DESCRIPTION

The Racing Beat Miata High Flow Air Inlet Assembly combines the advantages of a low restriction KandN air filter with a smoother air passage into the factory Miata air meter assembly to improve horsepower and throttle response on your Miata. Designed, engineered, and manufactured entirely in the USA by Racing Beat, this handsome assembly, with its polished aluminum casting, positions the air filter cone away from the exhaust header to minimize the intake of heated air.

This Miata intake kit is supplied with a genuine KandN high performance filter for excellent durability and increased performance. Backed by a Million Mile Warranty, the KandN filter will offer many years of trouble free performance.

The installation of a performance Miata intake is one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to noticeably increase horsepower and throttle response. The RB Miata High Flow Intake replaces the restrictive factory air box and allows your engine to draw in a larger volume of intake air.

As reviewed by Miata Magazine, "Around 3500 rpm a new pull develops that increases with the RPM. Around 5,000 the power gain is easily noticed over the factory system. The Racing Beat intake will look good under any hood with its curvy aluminum elbow, but under its good looks is a performer."

Only minimal effort is required to complete the installation of this assembly into your Miata and requires only the use of simple hand tools. Use of the KandN Filter Charger Kit is an inexpensive way to clean, protect and prolong the life of your air filter.

The Racing Beat High Flow Miata Intake Assembly has received an emissions exemption from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and is considered legal for street use..

For 1990-93 Miatas equipped with factory installed cruise control it will be necessary to relocate the cruise control actuator unit. We offer a Cruise Control Relocation Kit to reposition the actuator unit. Note: We are often asked if this air intake assembly is compatible with a specific aftermarket shock tower brace. Sorry, we know of no shock tower brace that will fit with the Racing Beat HighFlow Intakes on 90-93 Miatas. Note we ship this direct from Racing Beat.,

Racing Beat HighFlow Miata Intake

I installed this intake on my car last night. This is the first engine performance upgrade I have installed. The car is in the initial stages of a STS build for Autocross. The Racing Beat Intake was easy to install and the directions were straight forward and very easy to follow. There were a couple of minor fitment issues the bolts from the airflow meter to the bracket took a little shifting to get them to go in; however, I think everything was within tolerances.
The fit in the engine bay is tight and the filter is up against the hood stop. This may cause some issues as I shield the filter to avoid pulling air from the hot engine bay. The filter is located not far from the exhaust manifold and this may increase the temps of the air flowing into the filter.
I did notice a little quicker throttle response; I have not done any dyno testing with the intake in place.
