Black Finish Upgraded Bar :: 06-10

Built by our friends at AWR Racing (same company that makes the full cages for Mazda's Spec racing series with this same car!). When Mazda's own choice for building the full race Miata roll cage for the Miata builds a bolt in Miata bar, you can expect a great fit...and that's what we got when we installed this bar in our own 2006 MX5 Miata. Factory plastic simply snaps off and was out of the car in ten minutes, we had the factory bar out in another ten minutes, the new bar bolted in place in another 15 minutes, and were down to trimming and reinstalling factory plastic bits. Total install time about two hours with cleanup. Under the factory roll hoops is a wimpy factory bar that is remarkable only because it attaches in 6 different points, including all the way through to the pan. This replacement uses much more stout 1.5in OD x .120 thickness tubing and a boxed steel cross section running between the seat belt towers to add a great deal of strength and superior protection, but still mounts to all the factory mounting points with all factory hardware for an easy installation! Made in silver finish or black powder coat as shown and includes a black fiberglass cap to make installation look almost factory (see full install instructions and pictures posted in our forum instruction section). This is a direct bolt in roll bar with no drilling needed to install. This bar also comes with a black fiberglass cap for covering up the exposed trim left behind from original bar covers (look close in the picture). Bar is available in Black or Silver. YES, still full function of the soft top and you can still use the optional factory hardtop. But, does not fit with Power factory folding hardtop. The standard bar is approved for all NASA HPDE's. The petty bar design is approved for NASA Time Trials and meets the requirements for SCCA Track trials.
