The Racing Beat exhaust system for your 4-cylinder or V6 Mazda 6 features a pair of 100% stainless steel mufflers for extended durability and performance. Exhaust gas is routed through each muffler through 1.6mm heavy-wall 2-inch tubing to provide superior exhaust flow.

Each muffler features our exclusive cast-stainless steel flange that ensures positive exhaust gas sealing between the muffler and stock connecting pipe. The finishing touch is added with our distinctive twin-walled half-oval outlet tip (3.5" W x 3.25" H). Each tip is produced entirely from stainless steel, features an etched Racing Beat logo, and is highly polished to a mirror-like shine!

Unlike many aftermarket systems that utilize a universal muffler, the Racing Beat system features a canister designed specifically for the Mazda 6. On this system, the inlet and outlet tubing positions have been placed lower on the muffler canister to allow the muffler unit to be positioned higher under the rear bumper. This design offers a more modest look and minimizes the risk of damage to the muffler that can occur navigating driveways, speed bumps, etc..

Like all Racing Beat exhaust systems, this Mazda 6 system is designed to offer a moderate sound increase over the stock system. This system will not produce any harsh, buzzy, tinny , or droning tones either during hard acceleration or extended highway driving. Installation can be completed by the weekend mechanic using only basic hand-tools.

If you can operate an end-wrench, then you can install this system! Comes complete with replacement gaskets. This system is 50-state emissions legal. Fits ALL 2003-2008 Mazda6....EXCEPT the MazdaSpeed and Wagon version.

After reading many other positive reviews on both the GWR and Miata forums I finally decided to buy this product. My main concern for many months was whether or not I was up to the task of installing the header. But with the excellent instructions on Brian's forum as well as several Miata forum threads it turned out easier than I expected. After receiving notice that the header would arrive on a Friday afternoon, I began the disassembly process. After about 3 hours I had the stock manifold out. Later that afternoon the new catted header arrived right on schedule. And it is a thing of beauty. I opted for the stainless version. Installation on Saturday morning took another 3 hours, although I could have shaved some time off of that but I was actually enjoying the process of double checking torque values and cleaning up my engine compartment. I already have the GWR catted midpipe, so that connection was a snap. I put everything back together, reconnected my battery, and went for a drive. NO CODES! Nice throaty sound with my RSII muffler, and a significant boost in power and low/mid torque. Another happy camper here. I since have added a M-E tune and I feel I have realized all of the gains that Brian has achieved on his 2012 project Miata. I've put several hundred miles on my Miata since the install with zero problems. This is the car that Mazda should have built all along. Thanks Brian.

Wanted to say thanks. The exhaust system fit perfectly, no drone at steady throttle, but a nice sound winding thru the gears. And it does sound a lot like my old Alfa. The Racing Beat lowering springs are just right. Appreciate the tech advice and the service.
