After months of exhaustive development and testing, Racing Beat sent us a prototype and it worked great and now we sell the Racing Beat RX8 REVi Intake System. Designed to offer RX8 performance improvements without sacrificing drivability, the Racing Beat RX8 intake system is the final result of hundreds of hours of dyno test sessions and on-road testing.

The major components of the REVi RX8 Intake System include: an OEM style air box assembly, custom-designed KandN air filter unit, aluminum mass air flow sensor tube, and a tuned-length air inlet horn.

Unlike the vast majority of the aftermarket RX8 intake systems on the market, the Racing Beat RX8 intake system retains one of the important OEM intake track mesh screens to aid with the even distribution of airflow across the mass air sensor. The inclusion of this screen minimizes the possibility of rough idle issues that may occur if both stock screens are eliminated. Working with the design team at KandN Engineering, a high capacity air filter was developed that allowed positioning of a tuned-length intake horn inside the filter body. This filter design allowed a fine-tunning of the length of the air horn to maximize the RX8's performance potential. Most aftermarket intake systems for the RX-8 incorporate a large air filter, which is then connected to the intake manifold with a length of plastic or metal tubing. In many cases, the size of the filter that has been selected will dictate the length of tubing required, severely limiting the critical tuning importance of the air intake tube!

The REVi RX8 intake system addresses one of the most common complaints that we hear regarding aftermarket intakes for the RX-8, which is "extremely loud intake noise!" Although a simple unshielded tube-and-filter RX8 intake system may produce respectable top end power, the noise levels that are produced can be unbearably loud. During initial testing with one of more popular aftermarket units, a full-throttle sound level reading of over 90 db was measured inside the RX8, with the windows rolled up!

Compared to the stock sound level, most will soon tire of this type of rocket-racer intake buzz. The REVi RX8 intake produces a much more modest intake sound with only a 2-3 db increase over the stock RX* intake system. As described on by one of our prototype test volunteers: "This intake is definitely louder than the factory unit, but not unreasonably actually sounds deep and pretty darn good." horsepower and performance make it a blast to drive. The addition of the Cobalt shock tower brace, Racing Beat sway bars, ILM front power train and X braces really enhanced the ride - minimal body roll, comfortable and very responsive. Your recommendations really helped transform the car from great to fantastic. Your research, product development and candid recommendations make you a standout in the industry. My only questions are - what's next on my list .... And how soon will my wife want the same upgrades on her 2012 PRHT ... Again, thank you!!! Charles G

RE: RoadsterSport Stainless MX5 Miata Midpipe Part# 60-1328: I love the mid-pipe!! Not only is it beautiful, but it makes the sounds coming out of the 'race single' exhaust even better. The two go well together, and it mellows the decel drone a lot. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I received the Roadstersport II, and I wanted to compliment you guys on an awesome product. The Miata should have these on from the factory. They make a great sound, that is not obnoxious at all. The exhaust also installed seamlessly!!! I will buy all of my Miata stuff from you in the future. Thanks,
