Did you know that starting in 2006 the new MX-5 uses monotube shocks from the factory for the first time? Monotube designs cost more to make but the entire industry is going monotube for superior performance over the old twin tubes. These new JICs are also monotube design...for only the serious drivers who want something VERY competent for track and autocross days. Unlike the JIC for earlier Miatas the starting setup for 2006 and newer miatas is relatively conservative with 6kg up front (roughly 335lb) and 5kg springs in the rear (roughly 279 lb). The FLT-TAR features a light weight, 15 way adjustable monotube damper that ensures high strength and fade free performance. The ride height is adjustable SEPARATE from the spring perch as the lower section which attaches to the car threads OVER the shock body giving you maximum suspension travel at any setting because you actually set the length of the shock! This setup also allows for proper corner weighting of your Miata without effecting spring preload settings. Linear springs give laser precision steering response. Includes upper pillow ball mounts. For an additional $100 we can change the spring rates to much higher (10kg front and 7kg rear). Years ago we sold the TEINs when a twin tube was considered good, now we sell these JIC monotubes which have proven better (both the first and second place cars in last year's Sport Compact Car Magazine Ultimate Street Car Shootout were on JICs). Yes, fits the power hardtop version too!
