The MAXX design Boss Frog leans back to give you more headroom and style in a bar that still meets SCCA solo 1 rules, fits with factory glass windows. HOWEVER, unlike the standard BossFrog Double hoop this MAXX design will NOT fit with hardtops! BossFrog made the very first Double Hoop rollbar for the Mazda Miata. Others tried to copy the look, but they have never been able to achieve the strength of the Frog's patent pending design. The Boss Frog Double Hoop Miata Rollbar is made of the highest quality 1-3/4" x 1/8" wall DOM tubing, with heavy 7 gauge laser cut flat parts. Each rollbar is manufactured in a precision welding fixture to assure the absolute best fit in your car. They utilize TIG welding for all tubing joints, to provide a higher strength but yet smaller weld joint, and the highest quality finished appearance. Why don't their competitors use TIG welding? Because it is slower and more expensive to make. The Double Hoop Miata Rollbar is available in three finishes; Black powdercoat - after manufacturing, the rollbars are shot-blasted to remove any mill scale from the steel, then they go through a 7-step cleaning process, then a 60% gloss powder is electrostatically applied and baked at over 400 degrees to get a hard durable finish. Polished Stainless - high quality 304 stainless tubing and flat parts are hand polished to a shiny finish. Unfinished - the color and finish of the rollbar is completely up to you. The secret to the Boss Frog Double Hoop's strength is the unique saddle, which straddles the Miata's "hump". In rollover testing per SCCA guidelines, the patent pending saddle design helped to distribute the load to the floor of the Miata. The vehicle frame bent in half from the pressure, but the rollbar was completely intact. Why buy a Boss Frog Double Hoop over other Miata rollbars? BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: This new Maxx design has a rake angle on the top portion which positions the hoops about 1-1/2 inches further rearward for increased headroom and recline angle. In order to fit under the top, the overall height of the Maxx design is about 1/2" lower than the standard Boss Frog Double hoops. Because of this lower height, some customers will want the old style (standard) hoops, to get the tallest possible bar for track use and helmet clearance. Therefore, Boss Frog continues to offer both styles, the Maxx and the Standard and any customer wanting the old style can simply email us after submitting the order to ask that they be sent the "standard" instead of the Maxx design. This silver is a powder coat finish, not to be confused with the polished stainless steel that we also offer.
