DESCRIPTION
Stock OEM flywheels have the counterweight built into them. The ACT rear counterweight is needed when installing ACT light flywheel on Mazda. ACT light flywheels are NOT supplied with the counterweight and must be purchased separately. ACT XACT flywheels significantly improve engine response and acceleration, and give a higher degree of performance than the original stock flywheels.All ACT XACT flywheels are designed as a single piece. The one-piece design reduces a chance of failure and allows for a uniform and efficient heat transfer from the clutch, eliminating loose ring gears and warped inserts. ACT XACT flywheels are manufactured using chromoly forgings, also known as chromium-molybdenum steel, a metal which is three times more rigid than aluminum.
The materials on ACT XACT flywheels are properly distributed for good heat tolerance, maximum strength and lower inertia. Furthermore, ACT heat-treats their flywheel forgings for strength and induction, and hardens their ring gears for the longest gear life. ACT XACT flywheels can be resurfaced without the need to buy additional parts. All ACT XACT flywheels are SFI certified to meet proper safety standards.
ACT XACT StreetLite flywheels are lighter and stronger than stock cast flywheels and are designed to improve driveability and durability. ACT manufactures their flywheels using high-tech CNC equipment and computer balancing to offer better reliability and smooth operation at high RPMs. ACT recommends XACT StreetLite flywheels for Street and Drag Racing.
