MegaSquirtPNP Model MSPNP-MM9697 MSPNP is a true stand-alone "plug-and-play" programmable Engine Control Unit (ECU) that plugs in using stock connectors and completely replaces the stock Miata ECU. No wire cutting for basic install!

The Miata MSPNP is a far more powerful and precise tuning tool than similarly priced "Band-Aid" piggyback systems used to trick the stock ECU. The MSPNP Miata ECU comes pre-loaded with default base maps from months of testing on normally-aspirated Miatas. Using those maps as a starting point on your normally-aspirated Miata, a qualified tuner will be able to quickly dial in the settings for your unique Miata setup. The only under-hood work required is to set your baseline timing, attach a vacuum line (included) to your Miata intake manifold, and route it to the ECU in your Miata's interior. No cutting, soldering, or even crimping. It's really that simple!

Any setup will benefit from the optional ability to delete the performance bottleneck of the restrictive stock flapper-door Air Flow Meter (AFM) (90-93) or hot-wire Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) (94-95) using either of the deletion kits below. Here's how it works: Connect the MSPNP to a basic laptop computer (cable and software included) and the user-friendly MegaTune interface gives you the power to customize parameters for fuel injection, ignition timing, boost pressure, air/fuel ratio (when used with optional wideband O2 sensor), radiator fan, and air conditioner functions to maximize the performance of your engine and take full advantage of the upgrades you've invested in.

Features include: Based on the MegaSquirt-I PCB V.3.57, running the MS1-Extra Hi-Res firmware V.10D2 All software based features of the MS1-Extra firmware are enabled 12x12 fuel and ignition tables with linear interpolation between the cells (giving you plenty of resolution) Programmable rev limiter Overboost protection (configurable, default is configured for 152 KPA) Wideband O2 input (we recommend the Innovate Motorsports LC-1, available through us at competitive price) Mappable air/fuel ratio targeting when using a wideband O2 controller (optional) Coolant temp timing advance Inlet temp timing retard MAPdot accel/decel enrichment Overrun fuel cut 4-BAR MAP internal MAP sensor (for up to 44 PSI boost) Supporta high impedance injectors or low impedance injectors with the addition of a resistor pack Very high resolution injector PW control on order of .035 MS (enables idling huge injectors accurately) Extra features added to the hardware: Electronic boost control Launch control (using the stock clutch switch or a push-button) "Flat shift" feature (lets you keep your foot floored between shifts: clutch, shift, un-clutch, keeping the revs high but limited; on turbo-ed setups, minimizes "turbo lag") Knock sensor input (for use with KnockSense MS external "Knock Box") Real-time barometric correction Cooling Fan Control Closed Loop Idle Speed control AC Control (yes your ECU controlled A/C will continue to function properly)

100% Plug-n-Play option leaving the stock MAF in place, or optionally you can remove the factory MAF/Airbox and pickup a few more ponies-- we've made this unit as flexible as possible. All that's needed to remove the factory MAF is a GM Style IAT Sensor, a short piece of pipe with an 3/8" NPT bung for the sensor, and a cone filter. We have a kit available here to simplify this.
