The Stubby Antenna is just 3.77 inches tall, super easy to install (unscrew the old, screw on the new Stubby!), machined from billet aluminum and then powdercoated for durability, and will not affect radio reception or interfere with satellite radio services. Stubby Antenna
Simply put, every time your screwing/unscrewing your OEM antenna to go into a carwash, you're causing both mechanical looseness and potential electrical contact damage. The Stubby eliminates that and picks up every radio station I had with the long antenna.

Bigger isn't always better!
After this 20second modification, you won't have to worry about losing it during a car wash, plus it looks nice too. Have not noticed any adverse affects on radio signal.
Nicely made piece. Much less gangly than the stock antenna. Screws in easily and has pretty good reception.
Reception is spotty when in parking garages or between tall office buildings. Noticed on road trips that it is harder to pick up local stations when using the "scan" function on the radio. However, it does fit great and looks good. I expect it to outlast the life of the vehicle.
Horrible reception over OEM. Looks fine and more aero and all, but not worth it if you don't live at the base of a radio tower and don't want to miss your favorite radio stations.
Good to have it before I lost one of my eyes cause huge stock antenna
Great product. Easy to install, looks great, works well.
Got a stubby antenna. Unscrewed the old one (the rubber support had cracked). Screwed the all alloy stubby into place. Sha-Zam! Looks better and the Alpine works fine. I am guessing that it will last longer too, but I'll have to wait 7 years to find out. It felt like it was well made and was very easy to install (by hand). Great replacement.
Great product. Looks sharp and I have not experienced any poor signal from a shorter antenna. Install took 15 seconds.
