BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: This is the kit we use in our Project 2006 and our NCLIGHT Race car. The magic is in the caliper, modern high tech dedicated left and right forged calipers, six pistons each with staggered piston sizes result in Porsche-like braking, ultra precise modulation and feel you never imagined in a Miata.

Wilwood Forged Narrow Superlite 6R Big Front Brake Kit. Includes Pair of SRP Drilled and Slotted 12.88" two-piece rotors and pair of forged black Calipers. Saves 10 pounds of unsprung weight compared to stock front brakes!

The unsurpassed braking capacity of the Forged Narrow Superlite 6R six-piston caliper serves as the base of this 12.88" big rotor kits for the MX5. FNSL6R kits are engineered application specific for simplified installation and full compatibility with OE master cylinder output and ABS functions where used. Big brake kits provide increased brake capacity and complimentary style with wheel, tire, and suspension upgrades on show cars and high performance street/track machines.

Kit Features

-Upgrade from OE calipers to Pair of Forged Billet Narrow Superlite 6R six piston calipers for either street or track.
-Includes Front Brake lines
Includes pair of 12.88" diameter SRP drilled and slotted rotors.
-Simple bolt-on installation with no modifications required.
-Fully compatible with ABS and OE master cylinder output.
-Wheel spacer (included) is required to clear stock 17" wheels on the 12.88" kit.

Component Features

FNSL6R Radial Mount Six-Piston Calipers:
-Competition proven forged billet bodies demonstrates superior strength and resistance to deflection and separation under high load.
-Differential bore stainless steel pistons generate high clamping force and balanced pad loading for optimized stopping power and even pad wear. Stainless pistons stay corrosion resistant and inhibit heat transfer from the pads to the caliper body, fluid and seals.
-The internal piston seal-in-bore design adds proven durability with keeping the fluid in and dirt out without the need for external boot seals.
-For more aggressive race applications, calipers can be fitted with our exclusive Thermlock pistons which provide the most effective thermal barrier for minimizing heat transfer from the brake pads to the caliper body, seals, and fluid.
-Spring loaded stainless SRS bridge plates dampen pad noise and protect the caliper bridges from wear.
-Calipers provide easy access to the pads for service, without the need to unbolt the calipers from their mounts.

SRP Series Rotor:
Drilled rotor kits feature our signature SRP performance drilled and slotted rotors with a durable e-coat finish. E-coat seals the casting and prevents corrosion in all areas of the rotor not swept clean by the brake pads. This durable finish will maintain the high tech styling and appearance of the rotors inside your wheels for many miles down the road.

Forged Aluminum GT Mounting Hats:
-Forged aluminum rotor mount hats help reduce weight with the strength to handle the exceptional brake torque delivered by the FNSL6R calipers.
-Black E-coat finish resists corrosion while adding to the aggressive competition look inside the wheel.

Wilwood "Smart Pads":
-FNSL6R kits includes our proven formula BP-10 Smart Pads. BP-10 is a unique composite-metallic compound that provides increased friction, stopping power, and higher fade resistance in a clean and quiet running low dust style pad.

Radial Mounting Brackets, Hardware and Plumbing:
-Radial mounting provides secure attachment directly to the OE mounts, with two planes of adjustment for precise alignment of the caliper over the rotor. Brackets, premium grade fasteners and alignment shims are included in each kit.
-Jacketed stainless steel braided, DOT approved flexline kits are included with each brake kit.
