Fiberglass topsarrive in black gel coat ready to prep and paint. As with any fiberglass part, it is intended to go to a body shop for final prep and paint for a complete look. Carbon fiber topscome finished with a glossy clear coat and are ready to bolt on to the car.
STREET Top: We call this top the street model because it comes complete with seals, and features a molded lexan rear window without exposed fasteners for a clean look. However, an aftermarket top like this differs from factory style hardtops such as those that Mazda made for the earlier MX5s in a few ways.
SHIPPING: This is a LARGE item. The shipping total our system calculates only applies to residential addresses. If you enter a business address, the system will not adjust the shipping cost. Please note in your order details you have chosen to ship the top to a business address and we will refund a portion of the shipping charges after you place your order. Yes, you can arrange to pick this up from us in San Diego to avoid shipment costs. BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: This design started life as a pure race shell. It is still fundamentally a race shell even when seals and liner are added to make it a bit more street friendly. But it does not approach the comfort and quiet of a factory top like Mazda last made for NC generation Miatas which weighed over 50 pounds. Because this top is less than half that factory top weight, it is easy to put on and off and a person with long arms (like me) can do it solo.
BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: A barely dressed RACER'S top is what this really is, so please adjust your expectations. If need this for track, it's the right product. If you really need a factory top that has defroster and keeps out the winter chill, this is the WRONG item for you. This is a Racer's bare weight shell to which DG adds minimal seals and liner. We use these for high speed track days, that's what they are best for in my opinion.
