DESCRIPTION
If you've replaced your NC's coolant expansion tank with our beautiful all-aluminum "lifetime" version, you've likely noticed now that the factory plastic power steering tank nearby is quite the eye sore. Manufactured for us by Moroso, this all-aluminum replacement will never wear out and looks great. The custom machined neck takes the factory cap. Tank features internal baffles to reduce aeration of the fluid. Direct replacement for the factory tank. We always recommend changing the factory hose clamps out for worm-drive style hose clamps, available from any auto parts store.
NEW optional satin black powdercoated finish offers a more subtle option than the bare aluminum. The satin black is a low-gloss finish that looks right at home in the NC engine bay, unlike a wrinkle or high gloss black that matches nothing around it. Some other examples of powdercoated tanks done by individuals or other shops make the mistake of coating the nipples where hoses and cap attach. That is a no-no! This premium powdercoating is done at the factory the correct way with all critical areas properly masked so that you get a great looking finish without compromises.
Checking the level:
To make it easy to check the level of your power steering fluid, we made use of the features we were already adding; Unlike the factory tank, this one has internal baffles to help reduce aeration of the fluid. The top-most baffle is placed at the full position for the fluid. Therefore, when you take the cap off and look inside you can only see down to the top surface of that baffle. If you see fluid at or slightly above that baffle, you're full and good to go. If the baffle/plate is dry, just add fluid until you see it.

NC Aluminum Power Steering Reservoir
I got hooked on Moroso products when I purchased the black powered-coated coolant tank this summer. Then I HAD to have the matching black powder-coated power steering bottle. It doesn't give me extra HP :) but it sure does make my engine bay look better. The little PS bottle welds are exceptional (as they are on the coolant tank) and the black power-coat is matte-smooth. Both were easy to install including new hoses I purchased separately for the PS bottle. I would highly recommend these Moroso products.
This reservoir looks as good on arrival as it does in the photos. It may not be over engineered but it is very nicely overbuilt. Much nicer than what Mazda put there to begin with. I have it in combo with the expansion tank, which I bought first. On seeing how nice it really was and how well it fit, I decided, "why not?" And ordered the reservoir to match.
They both fit perfectly, accommodate precise hose placement, etc.
If you like the looks of the photos, you'll be happy. Easy install.
Great product at a great price! After you install the Moroso Coolant expansion tank, you will want to add this tank to make your engine compartment look complete.
Installation is very easy and this is also a good time to put in new PS fluid, no new to reuse the old fluid.
