DESCRIPTION

This Race Header Kit* is intended for the installation of a 1999-2000 Miata Racing Beat header into a California Emissions Equipped Model (CEEM). Several states now sell California emissions equipped models, to determine if your car is equipped with California emission control devices, refer to the emissions decal on the underside of the hood.

Installation of a header on a CEEM requires the removal of the primary catalytic converter. Once a header is installed on a CEEM, the vehicle is no longer considered emissions legal and cannot legally be used upon a public highway.

If the header is to be used on for a race application, this Race Header Kit can be used to retain the use of emissions control system. The objective of this kit is to relocate the secondary oxygen sensor to a new position in the exhaust system directly behind the remaining catalytic converter. In order to accomplish this task, the factory connecting pipe must be removed from the vehicle and an oxygen sensor nut position must be drilled and a retaining nut welded in place.

This kit includes two (2) wiring harness extensions that are equipped with factory OEM style connector plugs, which eliminate the need to "cut and splice" the factory wiring harness. Teflon-coated 18-gauge wire is utilized to provide superior heat protection. Also supplied is an oxygen sensor mounting nut and detailed instructions.

NOT CARB APPROVED, CANNOT SHIP TO RESIDENTS OF CALIFORNIA.
