EXEDY Racing "Stage II" HD RX8 Clutch Kit

DESCRIPTION

Recommended Use: High Performance Street, Autocross, Racing - for applications where quick shifting response is required. Exedy/Daikin Clutch is one of the largest suppliers of both stock OEM and performance aftermarket clutch components.

This complete Exedy Stage 2 clutch kit for the RX8 includes a 3-puck sprung hub, cerametallic compound disc, upgraded pressure plate, replacement throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and a clutch installation alignment tool. The S Metal Disc utilizes low gravity, T5001 Carborich cerametallic material for outstanding heat dissipation and performance. This kit is ideally suited for performance-modified RX8, and the pressure plate features a 1455 lb pressure plate-clamping load.

Combine this clutch kit with a Lightweight Aluminum Flywheel for a complete package. If you thought running through the gears in your RX8 was fun before, just wait until you install a lightweight flywheel! To minimize the installation effort and cost, seriously consider installing your new flywheel during the clutch replacement.

With any cerametallic clutch system, there will be some compromise of start up drivability as compared to a stock clutch (chatter on light throttle, low rpm start up). This characteristic is generally felt to be acceptable in modified performance cars. Rated to 269 Ft/Lbs of torque.

RX-8 Exedy Application Guide

Good-Win Racing offers several different clutch packages for the RX-8, each intended for a specific application. Use this reference guide to determine the package that best meets your requirements:

Exedy Stage 1 - This is the preferred clutch for street and light horsepower track use. Driveability is similar to the stock clutch with smooth engagement characteristics. Pedal efforts will be slightly higher due to the approx 25% higher clamp loads. The clutch disc is equipped with spring center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock. Rated wheel torque - 237 ft/lbs.

Exedy Stage 1 HD The Heavy Duty (HD) clutch package features the exact same disc as the Stage 1 package, but this kit is equipped with a more aggressive pressure plate for use with higher horsepower applications. This pressure plate offers higher clamping forces and pedal efforts will be greater due to the approx. 40% higher clamping loads as compared with the stock pressure plate. The clutch disc is equipped with spring center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock. Rated wheel torque - 296 ft/lbs.

Exedy Stage 2 This kit features a low-inertia cerametallic disc with a sprung hub center for use on "street/strip/weekend racer" applications. These components are intended to handle the abuse of higher-powered modified engines and can typically handle more abuse than stock-type disc assemblies without slipping and fading. The sprung hub center offers ease of engagement vibrations at idle and during acceleration/deceleration. Clutch engagement is very abrupt and best suited for use in racing and high performance driving applications not recommended for street use. Rated wheel torque - 269 ft/lbs.

Exedy Stage 2 HD The Heavy Duty (HD) clutch package features the exact same disc as the Stage 2 package, but this kit is equipped with a more aggressive pressure plate for use with higher horsepower applications. This pressure plate offers higher clamping forces and pedal efforts will be greater due to the approx. 14% higher clamping loads as compared with the Stage 2 pressure plate. The sprung hub center offers ease of engagement vibrations at idle and during acceleration/deceleration.
