The smaller, lower boot, sits on top of the transmission at the base of the shifter, and the larger under the center console.
SOLD SEPARATELY...this "Small" boot is the lower one in the picture. INSTALLATION: You need to lube it up to get it on, white grease works well. Care should be taken to push on the rubber, not the flange, as the part is moved down the shifter (if you push on the flange the rubber will separate and make the part useless).

The original small inner boot on my 2002 was all torn up, allowing heat and noise up from the trans tunnel (and possibly dirt down into the trans turret. Replacing both the small inner boot and the larger top boot drastically reduced the amount of heat on the trans tunnel at my right knee. Do both boots at the same time since you have everything off.
