DESCRIPTION

PAIR of new Engine mounts for 2.5 Conversion customers, as used in our Project NC LIGHT track car, lowers motor quarter inch so bigger 2.5 motor better centered. For the serious NC Miata performance enthusiast we bring you billet polyurethane motor mounts for the "NC" Mazda Miata MX5. The stock Miata soft engine mounts allow a great deal of motor movement...so much that autocrossers and track day racers have complained to us about high speed shifts that can be vague and difficult. The engine leans over hard enough to actually twist the transmission, making shifts difficult.

These mounts dramatically reduce motor movement for much more precise operation of your shifts and much more direct application of power to the ground....and your transmission will live a much longer life too! Price is per PAIR...

BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: Note they take about 500 miles of use to break in. Even this 'softest' version of our mount is a MASSIVE increase in mount stiffness and expect a few vibrations in the dash at idle. This is not for average street cars, see our RoadsterSport mounts if you street drive the car, these are really intended for dedicated track cars that get to the track on a trailer. NOT for customers with our big longtube headers or our BIG 1.8 inch primary headers.

Steel and Polyurethane Motor Mounts 70 Durometer SHORT for 2.5 Conversions

I've just done the 2.5 conversion and have used these mounts. I must say 'a little' vibration at idle is an understatement, but not so bad as to make it uncomfortable and I've only done about 150 miles on them. The difference in power laydown is incredible though, a lot to do with the extra power from the 2.5 I expect ;) but it just feels good, there's no 'windup' to release, it's just there. I've also got much harder urethane diff bushes as well so these just compliment and add to that drive line rigidity. A no brainer if you're doing the conversion but going by the performance of these I would highly recommend the standard height 70 durometer for the 2.0L. Build quality is excellent and fitment was a breeze. 5 Stars.
