Exedy is the premier Japanese OEM clutch supplier and EXEDY made your factory Miata clutch so when they told us they had finished a new organic disc heavy duty Miata clutch kit we took notice by installing one in our own 2006 Miata..and we love it.This HD clutch increases clamping pressure by 52% and will take the abuse of autocross and track days and low boost applications. This clutch will also give you a slightly stiffer clutch pedal (about 20% stiffer).
But this EXEDY clutch gives a more stock-like release curve than most HD choices....very much like the factory clutch release curve!
Kit comes complete with everything you need for installation including Pressure Plate, Clutch Disc, Throw Out Bearing, Pilot Bearing and Clutch Alignment Tool. Fits 6 Speed Only.

The engagement feels almost the same as stock, the pedal is quite stiffer, but not unmanageable at all, I could still trust any beginner to drive my car through stop and go traffic. So far it's done a great job of holding up the torque of a 2.5 but it's not FI yet.
The first 250 miles the clutch was marginally better than stock. Once the clutch broke in, I found a new level of performance. The engagement zone is crisp, the actual engagement is sharp and clean. I will definitely get another of these when needed. My only regret is I didn't get the aluminum flywheel from good-win.
While doing an engine upgrade I installed this clutch kit every thing needed to install is in the kit works very well.
I paired this with the Exedy Stage1 clutch and it's really butter smooth. You can feel the increased performance but it doesn't feel any more difficult to do stop/start/stop with it. EXTREMELY pleased. Highly recommended!
