Just installed both front and rear Racing Beat sway bars. Noticed an immediate improvement in cornering. One of the best bang for the buck purchases for this car. Started with front bar using middle hole, rear bar using end hole. Only issues were frozen endlink nuts, so I just cut them off.Rear bar was a breeze to replace and I found it easier to just cut the lower bolt off on the front - just fold the endlink up next to the bar ends, turn the wheel all the way to the left, work the driver side end over the steering arm and slowly slide the bar out at a slight downward angle.Done. Note, be careful of the pwr steering hoses located above the rack. And yes, all wheels were off during this install.
I installed these bars strictly for sporty street use and can say they live up to all the advertised benefits. The description of 'the car feels more planted' comes to mind. The stock suspension is not bad but a significant difference is noticeable once installed. The MX5 becomes more like a go cart which is how a sports car should feel.
Front bar installation was not as bad as many say in my view. There are a couple tricks to the installation that I found at various websites. A good light also helped.
Really improved the handling by greatly reducing body roll. Ride is nearly the same as stock. Install took a while due to frozen end link nuts; took a long time to get them off using penetrating oil and a breaker bar. Be sure to use 6 pt socket to avoid damaging the nuts.
I highly recommend getting this combo to help with the body roll . Even on the softest settings you can feel a huge difference and taking simple turns are more fun.
INSTALL NOTES:
If you have access to a lift, I would encourage you to use it for the install rather than stands. The rear bar installs in under 15 mins with a lift. Front bar takes a bit more time and is really the reason why a lift is necessary - it's a tight fit and was a bit difficult to get the old bar out and the new one in.
PERFORMANCE NOTES:
Only a few hours if driving with them so far, but body roll is noticeably reduced (middle front, softest back settings). I'll try to report back after a few weeks as we're finally getting some better weather for me to take the car out to some sweeping country roads.
Just got front and rear sway bar and new links installed. Could not believe the size of the OEM components compared to the new. Can feel the difference right away. I am getting closer to the handling of my NA. Think the next step is chassis braces.
OMG. The difference in the size of the old rear bar, and the RB rear bar is incredible. The handling is amazing with a huge improvement on turn in. I definitely recommend this bar combo with the Progress springs.
Excellent results with the Racing Beat sway bars and endlinks. Exaclly what I wanted- unchanged ride while crusing in a straight line, but corners are flat now, with little body roll. Very predictable handling.
I had these professionally installed and the mechanic said he had some trouble getting the front bar installed, but when I picked up the car he was not available so I couldn't get any details about what the problem was. They did say the bars looked good. Roll stiffness is improved, of course, but as with any suspension components more isn't always better and balance is what matters. With Progress springs and shocks from Fat Cat Motor Sports, these work well.
Wow. Huge difference. Little or no roll. The factory Suspension Package is better than the regular package but there is no comparison to the RB sways.
Freeways, sweepers or twisty turns; the difference is huge.
Changed the Cobalt installed at the rear for the Racing Beat; BIG difference! Get this set over the Cobalt.
Installed the Racing Beat anti-sway bars in my '06 Miata. Fabulous!
