DESCRIPTION

As used in our track and autocross cars! Our Wilwood brake bias valve allows you to fine-tune the balance of your braking system.

Installs in-line with your rear brake line.

Includes everything needed for install:
* Wilwood proportioning valve
* Female 10mm inverted union
* 2x adapter fittings

Combine this valve with our remote adjustment knob (part #61-1701) to be able to adjust your brake balance from the driver's seat!

NOTE: Wilwood supplies adapter fittings with this valve that are standard thread, which do not work on the Miata. Miata brake lines are metric, and so we include two metric adapter fittings from us to make this proportioning valve correctly attach to the Miata lines. We typically throw out the standard fittings before shipping to you to help avoid confusion, so you only get the metric ones, but an easy way to double check is that the metric fittings have no sealant on the threads, whereas the Wilwood standard fittings have red sealant on them.

If you are pairing this proportioning valve with a Wilwood brake master cylinder upgrade kit, note that the latest version of that master cylinder kit that we offer now comes with flexible braided stainless lines instead of formable hard lines. With that change, the new soft line for the rear of that kit has changed to have female end to connect directly to the factory rear hard line, eliminating the double-female union fitting that had to be used in old versions of the kit. This causes a complication with the proportioning valve as this proportioning valve comes with female adapters and thus intended to connect to a male end hard line on each side. So to use this valve with the latest version of the master cylinder kit, you must add a short hard line with metric fittings (available at most auto parts stores) between the proportioning valve and the flexible adapter line coming off the master cylinder.

Wilwood Brake Bias Proportioning Valve

Product arrived exactly as described with required fittings provided by Good Win. Install is fairly easy and straight forward. Would recommend adding some thread sealant tape to the brass fittings as mine leaked initially after install.

Once installed, you will need to bleed the system. The prop valve has instructions for bleeding correctly with this new valve installed (make sure the valve is opened completely). Once bled, screw the prop valve to approximately 1/2 between open and closed and go for a test drive. Progressively move the knob to add in more or less rear brake pressure as desired.
