Note that actual finish on these pedals has machining "swirls" on the face. The stock photo does not show this well but see our own photo below it for good example of the finish.
Nice pedals. Installation is tough!! It's really difficult to reach into pedal area and work!! I tried per instructions but had difficulty so here are my hints. The brake pedal is the difficult one because it's steel and small. I did not have enough room to swing a hammer to punch the initial drill point so I used a drywall screw and drill to make the starting point. Next after breaking two 1/16 drill bits, I used a 1/8 bit instead and finished with required bit for the # 8 -32 screws. There is very little space to hold the locknuts while tightening the screws so I used an open end wrench because even the 1/4 drive sockets would not clear the back of the pedals. I drilled the gas and dead pedal first with 1/16 drill bit for the self tapping screws, these are easy because they are plastic. Glad I did these first before I broke the 1/16 bits on the brake pedal! The clutch pedal is plastic also. I removed the stock rubber pedal cover and placed it between the car's clutch pedal and the new aluminum pedal, drilling thru all. I used 1 inch long # 8-32 flat head machine screws. This extra extension allows me to move the seat back and still reach the clutch pedal (I am only 5' 8"). So plan for installation to take longer than you think. Overall the pedals feel great and look great!
They look great and cost little..... the designated places to put the screws is questionable.
This is an easy upgrade and nobody but you will notice.
Received quickly. Roughly 20-minute install (plus a trip to Lowes for some alternate hardware).
The good: love them, much better traction for doing some fancy footwork! A nice bit of kit to add some flair to the cabin.
The bad: not the easiest install as you've got to get under the dash to drill pilot holes, install screws etc. ND clutch and brake pedals are ridiculously small and don't offer much wiggle room on installing screws/bolts & nuts. Was not able to utilize the original mounting points and had to choose other holes to get a good/reliable mounting location.
The billet pedal cover set is inexpensive yet gives an attractive and functional look to my MX-5 stock interior.
Installation is easy enough for me. It works and it does not slip during use. A must have even if you are not going to track your car.
