CarbonMiata Side Sill Covers (NC) - Carbon Fiber

My initial review had a stipulation on the decision I made on this purchase. The impression I had of the Carbon sills was, the twist in them would not allow them to stay seated on the car sill. They originally kept popping up . I used Clear RTV and yes duct tape, too hold them in place over night, they seem to be holding and are straight.

Received order today. I've purchased exhaust and rims from Goodwin. Good products, gast shipping, good customer response to questions I had on past purchases.

These carbon fiber door sills arrived slightly twisted. Which means, to align them you have to place them in position and hope they do not pop up. The old aluminum inserts are to be reused on the new carbon sills. The new carbon ones are pre-slotted to receive the tabs only on one side. This means you have to break off the unusable tabs grind off any stubs left behind. Under the aluminum inserts is a glue or double sided tape, you have to be careful not to bend up the thin aluminum while removing them, it's a real challenge. To get the
double sided tape to hold them in place , ( which is provided ) is another challenge, waiting to see if they stick.
Since the new sills have no taps to lock them in place , like the factory ones, double sided tape does not stick well to raw carbon fiber. I am trying RTV clear to hold them in place.
A wire harness runs under those sills , which I already taped for after market lighting. I need access to those harnesses , so I'm hoping a little RTV works.
Not sure this was a smart purchase, waiting to see if any issues arise with placement (staying where they're suppose to. )
