DESCRIPTION
This Miata intake is a simple bolt on for more power and better throttle response. The stock Miata airbox is very restrictive by its design. In order for the engine to reach more of its potential, it needs a less restrictive intake design.This Miata intake will give your Miata quicker acceleration and a nice deep growl at high revs. Not at all loud, because it is not hard mounted to the fender like some choices (mounted off the engine so it benefits from the isolating effects of the engine mounts).
A nice sporty sound. AEM's Short Ram induction systems create more power, and more torque for your Miata...you will FEEL the difference. High quality pieces and precise fit that helps your miata breath easier for better performance and snappier throttle response. Fits 1999 to 2005 but for California residents please note that CARB EO Number: D-392-28 applies ONLY to 2000 through 2003.

Miata Intake by AEM for 99-05 Miata RED
Had my eye on the cold air intake for some time, and finally bit the bullet. Installation was a breeze, and the install instructions were clearly written and helpful.
As for performance, well, I've read dynamometer results that claim it adds 1 or 2 hp, but it sure feels like more to me. The extra exhaust volume is mostly noticeable under heavy acceleration, and my wife isn't too crazy about that so far.
Other than that, I have no regrets, except that I didn't install this sooner.
