PART NUMBER: 60-1324T
Glass Packed baffle insert for RoadsterSport Mufflers, cuts sound a few decibels when installed. Does NOT fit other brands of mufflers! RoadsterSport mufflers ship with removable baffles but for those that want even more control we offer these glass packed baffles. Each unit is about 7 inches long and acts like a small additional muffler that slides into the tip of your RoadsterSport. All stainless steel construction for years of driving pleasure. Thanks to lock washer 15 ft/lbs is enough torque on retaining nut.
This is for folks that want to bring the sound DOWN for longer trips, etc. Uses same retaining screw as stock baffles.
Sorry, does NOT fit older SuperStreet Single Tip, or RACE, or any other brand of muffler.
Video below of installing the packed baffle:
I'm running the Goodwin Racing long tube header V1 and midpipe with the magnaflow muffler that hangs low paired with the non header version of the superQ twin tip. I purchased two of these tip baffles (60-1324T Glass Packed Baffle Insert for TWIN TIP versions of SuperStreet and SuperQ). They help to reduce noise without a doubt. I would like to try the header version of the superq (has an additional resonator) and remove the magnaflow resonator in the midpipe, but this solution has an acceptable noise level while minimizing the performance loss.
I bought two of these because they dampened the sound level to a very acceptable level. Especially I had to go to work either super early or late night, and I do not want to piss off all my neighbors. They work great, and I am now able to enjoy my music while cruising highway and still get the accoustic of my Superstreet Twin Tip exhaust.
I loved the tone of the SuperStreet Twin Tip with the mixing baffle all the way in, which if I read the descriptions correctly effectively makes it a RoadsterSport Race. I was pretty self-conscious driving around with it in that configuration, and quickly picked up this glass packed baffle. Best of all worlds now, at least in my opinion. I do not feel overly obnoxious but love the tone this system puts out. Thanks for all the configuration options, GWR!
I wanted this in case I wanted to take a long highway trip. It's a lot quieter and more even in tone, keeps the wife happy. LOL
As Brian has stated in ever video or wrintten commentary, exhaust sound preference is very personal. For me my stock system with twin tip super-Q was fine with or without baffles. When I added the stainless midpipe I got a little too loud on acceleration. The packed baffles lowered the exhaust volume and add lower growl. Hopfull not much HP is lost with them inplace.
