DESCRIPTION
Glass Packed baffle insert for RoadsterSport RACE Single tip and STREET SINGLE Mufflers only!About 8 inches long and acts like a small additional muffler that slides into the tip of our RoadsterSport RACE and STREET SINGLE muffler. All stainless steel construction for years of driving pleasure.
This is for folks that want to bring the sound DOWN for longer trips, etc. Uses simple retaining screw to hold in place and to enable easy replacement (remember to oil those threads every time you want to pull it out). Does NOT work on other mufflers. Note these are shipped in condition the factory calls 'raw' because despite being 304 grade stainless we do not polish them, visible tooling marks the length of the body are normal as is welding tarnish. No point in polishing them because that high labor process would double the cost yet when inserted inside the exhaust tip they will quickly gather more tarnish and soot.

Packed Baffle Insert for RoadsterSport SINGLE TIPS only
It works amazingly well! I run the Max Torque Longtubes and the RoadsterSport Race exhaust on my ND, and after installing the header, there was a lot more "sharpness" in tone and a lot of extra volume, even with the midpipe muffling.
This brought cold start noise down considerably, reduced highway drone, and brought the tone back into a sports car sound that doesn't hurt my ears under peak load.
10/10 would recommend!
I've got headers, high flow cat, race single on the car. It's loud. Ear-bleedingly loud. I try to leave the neighborhood in neutral loud.
Adding this insert makes it ... slightly less loud. It also helps the exhaust sound a little deeper.
To tame things a little more, I added a motorcycle silencer that I brazed into the insert so I can remove both at once at the track. Much better... but still loud.
It's a really nice quality product, fits well, easy to insert and remove. Just don't expect miracles in reducing sound level.
It's obvious that I have the single race exhaust tip also. Adding that baffle only took literally 20 seconds to Install. Takes a 1/2 socket and slips right into the exhaust. I did a Comparison video as to not having one & with it installed for cold starts along with some revs all and all I can Hear difference just from being in park but I'm sure I'll notice it more on the road and more broken in. Worth the investment
I have the racing single muffler and the double resonator mid pipe and I bought this baffle specifically for longer trips with my girl. She loves the sound with out it but this tamps down the sound level just enough that I don't wake her up if I have to give it a little more gas.
This packed baffle works great with the GWR Street single for my daily commute . The exhaust sound is on point! Wife approved! and you can remove it on weekends for spirited drives without the wifey LOL Loving it! Thank you Goodwin Racing!:)
This baffle is excellent with the RACE muffler for long interstate trips. Tones down the roar but not a lot, just enough over 2500 rpm. Around town and Miata rallies pop it off. Did take slight tapping to line up, no big deal. Race muffler and this baffle great investment. Good times. The end of the screw does not stick up when installed but will spray it with oil when taking out.
This baffle paired with the Roadstersport Single Exit Race Exhaust, makes for the perfect aggressive daily driver.
The race exhaust with the baffle is loud enough to remind you its there but not loud enough to annoy you.
the race exhaust produces some drone in the city and lots of it on the highway, this baffle will kill most of it.
Installation was not as easy as the goodwin video shows, It took approx 10 min either way but the baffle didn't slip in, I had to tap it in with an aluminum bar and small hammer, and used a screwdriver to line up the holes to be able to install the bolt.
