PART NUMBER: 60-1325ND
About 6 inches long and acts like a small additional muffler that slides into the tip. All stainless steel construction for years of driving pleasure.
This is for folks that want to bring the sound DOWN for longer trips, etc. Uses simple retaining screw to hold in place and to enable easy replacement (remember to oil those threads every time you want to pull it out). Does NOT work on other mufflers. Note these are shipped in condition the factory calls 'raw' because despite being 304 grade stainless we do not polish them, visible tooling marks the length of the body are normal as is welding tarnish. No point in polishing them because that high labor process would double the cost yet when inserted inside the exhaust tip they will quickly gather more tarnish and soot.

I received this baffle and it's just what I need as my commute changed, three freeways in afternoon traffic was a lil much, this did the trick, very grateful as when I want I can remove it. I would highly recommended this.
This made a significant difference over the included cone baffle.
My commute changed and driving 100 miles a day 3 days a week with a soft top ND2 was becoming very draining with the GWR Superstreet exhaust. (rest of the exhaust is stock) While the SSST exhaust sounds amazing, the bass on deceleration on such a long drive and the overall volume in general was becoming extremely fatiguing and likely causing some hearing damage as well. The included cone baffle helped take some of the bass and volume out, but it was still too loud for my taste. 30 minute commute....totally fine, but driving 60-90 minutes it was still too loud.
As much as I love the exhaust, I was beginning to contemplate selling it and getting something quieter. I already use high fidelity ear plugs as the soft top is really loud on the highway and I always try to preserve my hearing.
This packed baffle made a surprising difference, it brought the sound down to nearly the perfect level for commuting. It's a touch louder than the HKS Legamax Sport exhaust I had before, which was a very docile OEM+ type of exhaust. I'd say it maybe even sounds a bit better than the cone baffle as it doesn't seem like it robs quite as much high rpm treble. It's still much louder than OEM and there's no mistaking it's an aftermarket exhaust, but it's much more livable for long drives.
Extremely happy with this product. It does exactly what I wanted and the beauty of it is if I want to go for a spirited drive, it only takes a minute to unbolt the baffle. It's essentially like having a valved exhaust but without the expense and complication.
I have the entire RoadsterSport header to race exhaust.
The pitch of the exhaust was very high this baffle changed the pitch down and took off maybe 15% of the decibel rate. Now the exhaust is still loud but it doesn't have the high register and sounds smoother with this installed.
From the day I drove my 2016 MX-5 off the dealer's lot, I knew I wanted a bit more from my exhaust than the typical raspiness on acceleration and near silence on start up and idle I've come to associate with Miatas over the years. My only previous experience with aftermarket exhausts was with the Supertrapp glass pack I put on my first Miata in 1991. It had the tendency to attract young ladies within range for me to ask them out, then drove them away with constant booming drone whenever we went for a drive of more than a few miles.
After listening to way too many mp3 recordings and watching way too many YouTube videos, I took a chance on the RoadsterSport Super Q. Relatively easy to install with my car sitting on the floor of my garage, I was immediately in love with it when I pushed the starter button. Burbling start ups, growling acceleration, and purring idle or cruising along, it's the perfect balance of power and good manners on the street for those of us old enough to know we'll never drive our little hot rods on the track but are far from ready for Buicks and walkers.
When I got the Super Q, I took note of Brian's video showing off the packed baffle, which he advises is perfect to make long road trips a bit more peaceful. Anticipating a cross-country adventure in a couple of months, I thought that for the price of a tank of gas, it was worth the risk. I must say it took me longer to pull the right size socket and find my tube of anti-seize grease than it did to change out the baffles - beyond easy! I planned to drive with it in for a couple of days, then put it back on the shelf until my trip, but I love it so much it's never coming out! Where the Super Q is nice, the Super Q with packed baffle is sublime. It's like changing the station from Kris Kristofferson to Lou Rawls! Thanks for a great, affordable little part, Brian Goodwin.
This was/is the perfect solution for day trips (or greater). Takes the light drone out of the boring highway miles. Wife smiles, too, and that is priceless! Merely seconds to install-uninstall.
Got this for my RACE muffler. Had a twin tip ss before but it was too quiet in my RF.
It takes a bit of miles for the carbon buildup to quite down the pipe to what it will sound like but the race is loud so I got this baffle.
It cut the sound down a little but not much.
I purchased my 2019 MX-5 RF Club used and it came with a RoadsterSport Race exhaust. Seeking to tone it down, I purchased one of these baffles. Installation was easy, thanks to the video. However, I can not tell any difference. It sounds exactly the same to me. Maybe there is some difference but I think I would need an SPL meter to measure it. I certainly can't hear it.
Paired with a SuperSport exhaust, the packed baffle can nearly eliminate the drone on the freeway while maintaining the deep tone when starting from a stop or pulling hard, just at a lower volume. What impressed me the most is that with the top up and the baffle on, you could almost not tell I had installed an aftermarket exhaust when on the freeway. We took some longer drives with the baffle on and were very happy with the balance of the deeper sound when we wanted it but the much reduced drone when on the freeway for a while. Then, as soon as I get back to shorter drives on a daily basis, it's another 30 seconds to take the baffle off and go back to full volume and loudness. Very happy with this purchase, a perfect pairing.
I have the roadster sport super street. When you are on the gas you certainly hear it. At highway speed the drone was a bit much for the wife (and TBH..a little more than I would like as well).
I ordered the insert and just drove for about 45 minutes and it's awesome. Still loud when you are on it, but during highway speeds the drone is considerably lowered. To the point with the roof down and going 60MPH I could easily talk with the wife whereas w/o the insert the drone was a bit much.
Great work and really gives a nice option to the exhaust. The tone is like a low growl now w/o the highway droning.
Thank you for a great exhaust and this optional insert to tone it down a bit.

Bought this to go along with my Roadsport Race exhaust. Considering the fact that the Roadsport Race is the loudest of the exhaust offerings, I'd say that with the baffle, the exhaust sounds great in terms of volume and tone. I leave the baffle in 100% of the time. With the baffle, the exhaust is only loud when you get on the gas, but even so, it isn't obnoxiously so (and this coming from an older person who definitely doesn't want to sound like he is trying to drag race everyone at the stoplight). When cruising around, and even at moderate highway speeds (speed limit), there is no droning and the exhaust sounds like a tame purr. All in all, I highly recommend this if you want to lower the volume of your exhaust. It works.
I originally got this part for road trips as the drone with the top up was pretty bad with my midpipe and roaster sport 3 muffler. My muffler came with the unpacked baffle but I felt like it made the car sound strange at idle and didn't do much on the highway to notice. this one was a world of difference and I actually ended up leaving this part in for good. It cuts way the drone out completely and I love the sound level for every day driving now especially with the headers in now. The only thing I miss about having it out is that you hear the little burbble on decel more and that sweet little pop between shifts.
