PART NUMBER: 60-1339
Our Techna-Fit MX5 brake line kits come complete with all of the fittings and bolts for easy assembly. Techna-Fit high performance stainless braided brake lines eliminate the mushy pedal feel you get when your OEM MX5 rubber lines expand. All of Techna-Fit's assemblies are assembled in-house, meeting D.O.T. Certification.
Techna-Fit MX5 brake lines are made using teflon hose. The teflon hose has an extruded teflon core, with an outer stainless steel braided wire covering. The chrome or zinc plated steel fittings are then permanently crimped on each end.
All Techna-Fit hoses have a clear PVC cover, which gives added protection from flying debris; it also gives some abrasion protection from the line rubbing on suspension parts, in extreme braking conditions, with full compression (most movement of line). One advantage is that Techna-Fit MX5 brake lines reduce volumetric expansion. Over time and under continuous use, OEM MX5 rubber lines can swell and expand, exposing the driver to brake fade. The rubber cover is also vulnerable to attacks from the ozone layer (rubber deteriorates and causes failure).
In extreme applications (auto x, racing, hard driving) rubber Miata Brake line hoses might be susceptible to debris, thus causing failure. Stainless steel hoses provide some added protection from these issues. All Techna-Fit's factory assembled MX5 brake line kits are backed by their lifetime warranty.

These lines are a good fit and the install was straight forward.
The only point I did not like was that the front line fittings do not have the factory alignment arm, so it is a little difficult to get the orientation to stay while tightening the banjo bolt.
I also snapped one of the front banjo bolts. Not sure if I over torqued or if the bolt was faulty. It was slightly leaking on testing and when I went to give it a snug the head broke off. Not a huge deal, I put the factory banjo bolt back in and all is well.
No discernible change in brake pedal feel, although I have not driven that hard since installation.
Replaced OEM brake lines when I changed out brakes. World of a difference with response and grip. I have slotted brakes and SS brake lines. Highly recommend especially if car is lowered.
Recently installed on my 2012 MX5 that I have been running in the SCCA C Street class, now that I am switching the the STR class I can installed these SS braided brake lines.
Install went quite easy with no problems, haven't had time to run with them as yet, but I expect to get quite a bit more feel during heavy braking maneuvers.
Only complaint I have is that there is no means to prevent the banjo bolt connection from twisting if the connection was contacted by a stray cone during an autocross run. The OEM brake line has an extention/tab that nests with the brake caliper casting to prevent the accidental movement. It would be nice if Techna-Fit were to add extention/tab to these flexible brake lines.
Nice product, easy install. Good upgrade for the street. I did this along with Hawk HPS front & rear pads & have to say it works very well, no noise along with better response and stopping. Thank you again GWR,
I bought the Techna-Fit stainless steel brake lines because my oem lines were looking old and tired after 10 years and 100,000 miles. These lines fit great and were easy to install. After a brake bleed the pedal feels great with these lines. I would 100% recommend them.
Perfect fit. They look the part and the brake feel is very sharp in comparison with the stock rubber lines. If you plan on flushing your brake system, this is an easy upgrade to improve your brake system.
