Clean look, perfect fit, OEM antenna looked like a RC toy car antenna. Radio sounds the same, I live in a remote area and listen to satellite radio. Keep the car covered when not in use, removed the OEM antenna each time, other choice was to place a slit in the cover. Chose to remove it, with the stubby there is no need to remove it due to the low profile.
I love this stubby antenna. It's low profile ads to the appearance of my Mx5 and the reception is as good or better. Would definitely recommend.
Great antenna. Looks way better than stock! Very easy install.
The stock antenna not only gives the little MX-5 RF an RC car look, it detracts from the low and lean look of the car a bit. This Stubby takes car of that. I play music from my phone via CarPlay and haven't once used the radio. But I suspect that radio reception suffers a bit due to the Stubby being a smaller, shorter bit of metal vs the stock antenna length and coil wrap design. Also. This is a quality piece and the finish is an exact match for the base on the car that it screws into. It looks stock when installed.
The stock antenna makes the MX-5 look like an RC car. This one fixes that problem. It doesn't seem to degrade radio reception much, but I don't listen to music in my Miata anyway. My RoadsterSport Race muffler is all I want to hear.
I love everthing about it. Dosent seem to degrade audio performance, but I'm mostly listening to my twin tip Super Q exhaust (not reviewed yet...but its going to be great) system these days.

Love this little antenna. In my opinion, the stock one is way too long and on the diminutive MX5 made it look like an RC car. The stubby antenna provides the same signal quality and makes the antenna not very noticeable, which is a good thing in my opinion. I also like that there is less sticking up from the car to get snagged on things.
I know most people are probably interested in signal degradation, and while my tests are not scientific, in the month or so I have been using this item I have noticed no difference in the quality of my radio stations.
Fitment and build quality are excellent. Reception seems to have been unaffected by the shorter antenna, but I probably don't listen to AM/FM radio enough to make a thorough assessment. Works as advertised and it looks great!
