DESCRIPTION

Moto-East Cold Air Intake for the 2006-2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata Supercharged. Limited release!

For the MP62 Supercharged System there have been few options in the last several years. However, now you can enjoy the supercharger "whine" in all its glory! In addition, this removes the big plastic bits that are prone to heat soak, and uses our super high flow--yet low profile--custom designed air filter. The MAF housing is specifically sized to be very close the original LARGER THAN STOCK UNIT THAT SHIPS WITH THIS SUPERCHARGER, and for most should not need a re-tune. We still suggest that you have the datalogs and air-fuel ratios double check though.

Note that due to production variance and potential 2.3/2.5 swaps, we provide extra length on the throttle body coupler. This can easily be cut down to fit and you can slide the secondary pipe (bend) to adjust length. Mounting clamp is included to secure the pipe to the front bulkhead. IMPORTANT: We do NOT provide an inlet for the PCV system as the stock elbow does. This is for a few reasons, but the biggest of which is that the water to air intercooling setup on this kit is severely compromised by the oil mist that comes through. For this reason we strongly suggest the use of catch cans to capture the blow-by. If you want to route back into the intake, you can tap the provided MAF housing for a 1/8 or 3/8 NPT hole. The MAF housing is specifically designed using a thick 0.125 wall, so there are no issues threading if it is needed. Just make sure to do so behind the MAF.

No, there is no ceramic coating. The SC pulls air much faster, is intercooled, and is not SCCA legal. The $/benefit is just not there in this circumstance. We applied towards cost reduction and a nicer powdercoat/polish.

The secondary pipe (bend) is polished and not coated. In reality you will hardly see it, but you can always polish it up with mothers' aluminum polish. We chose not to coat it, but you can option to have it coated to whatever color.

Sound, this is a big one! With SCs (as we have intimately come to know on the BRZ/FR-S as well) sound is dampened by the stock airbox. This intake will unleash the noise of the blower. It is not huge, but instead of nonexistent, the whine is noticeable but not obnoxious. With a small pulley you will definitely hear it though!
