Sparco Sprint Seat Black

When I bought my '99, the driver's seat had received a botched foam-ectomy. After over a year of driving around in that seat and bracing myself against the door during spirited drives, I decided to replace my seat with a bucket seat. Even stock seats hardly depress when you sit in them, so bolstering was virtually nonexistent in OEM seats. I was initially attracted to bucket seats with reclining backs, but I would often read about how the width of them complicated fitment and pushed against the door when closed. Based on reviews and pricing, I decided to take the risk and purchase the Sparco Sprint without having sat in one prior. I also bought brackets to use the stock sliders with the Sprint. After 11 months of using the bucket seat on the street, I can confidently recommend it. The bolsters aren't aggressive enough to sacrifice comfort, but they're good enough to let you relax your body more while driving spiritedly. The angle of the seat is also reclined at an angle greater than 90 degrees, which is also what I was initially concerned about. Getting in and out of it quickly took practice, but it's been my new normal for awhile now. For anyone else on a budget looking for a comfortable and more-effective seat for street use, I'd recommend the Sprint.

This is the seat I installed with the PCI mount. Full Disclosure... a friend had run this seat 6 times and upgraded to a full halo seat, I got this from him at a steal, good as new. After taking the stock Miata seat completely apart to get all the wiring and headrest speakers out for re-use, the speakers mount in the cubby door behind me, I observed that both seats are built sort of like a lawn chair... nylon webbing carries your weight and on the one drive I've done so far I'm saying the seat is about 95% as comfy as the stock seat. Lateral support is awesome, it's like a permanent bear-hug in there! I'm much lower in the car and the bend in my knees is gone, I can left foot brake easily, heel and toe is a breeze. Feels like about a mile away between my legs and the steering wheel now too. It's basically a whole new car. I mainly use it for TNiA and other on-track events, Sunday fun car, but an autocross this weekend will be the next test. I guess I can't post up pics here but maybe I'll toggle over to the Gallery. All I need now is a 1/2 Watt 2.2 ohm resistor in the airbag circuit, I have a kit on order via Bride and apparently I'll have to wait, can't find this anywhere around town here. High quality product.
