A great choice for street customers looking for complete system that has a mild purr while cruising to work during the week and throaty rumble when pushing hard on your favorite off-ramp or canyon road.
MX5 Miata Header features:
-Same 4-2-1 configuration as the factory header but with much longer and much bigger diameter primaries for more horsepower and maximum TORQUE curve in a standard length header.
We have included a number of extra features into our MX5 Miata Header which we believe customers will appreciate. We CNC machine the main flange to match the factory unit, including the bolt hole flange area thicknesses so that we are precisely replicating the factory fit to the head in terms of thread depth and space, etc.
Magnaflow Stainless Steel MAXMidpipe. All stainless steel construction for years of driving pleasure. This MX5 Miata midpipe is larger diameter than stock at 2.5 inches all the way through for max performance. Uses high quality SPUN catalytic converter with metal core (despite presence of converter this unit is not CARB approved). UPDATED for 2018 this COMBO Now includes new MAXMidpipe with bigger 5 inch diameter 200 CPI converter, nobody offers more flow, be ready for max power normally aspirated, Turbo, or Supercharger.; This new MaxMidpipe is what we use with both our Edelbrock Supercharger and AVO Turbo.; Resonator is non-fiberglass, higher density packing is both more effective than fiberglass used in every other midpipe on the market and unlike all those other choices this resonator will not pack out or burn out over time.

RoadsterSport "Super-Q" Header Version Stainless Steel Premium Adjustable Sound MX5 Miata Muffler. Smooth mandrel bent tubing redirects the flow for a side entrance to the muffler where we engineered a three chamber design. It would be much cheaper to just use a single big muffler with nothing but perforated pipe through the center surrounded by sound absorbing materials, but doing it right with the three chamber design allows us to tailor precisely the FUN sound you want when you push it toward redline, without the harsh drone on decel that the more simple designs make you suffer.
This triple chamber design features an exclusive 'Helmholtz Resonator' first chamber that massively reduces the standing wave inside the exhaust system, reducing the 'booming' tendency by over 50db inside a top up Miata cabin that is common on many aftermarket Miata exhausts. To create this Helmholtz chamber we outfitted our 2016 ND Gen Miata with a computer and sound analyzer and microphones and drove it under varying conditions and loads and without the stock muffler for the computer to carefully measure the sound spectrum coming out the stock midpipe. We then use that data and some special software to calculate the particulars of the Helmholtz chamber size and valve specs to precisely knock down the frequencies we do not want to hear in the new Miata while allowing the good throaty burble fun sounds to pass through. The result is deep throaty fun, without the drone!
The Helmholtz chamber gives this muffler a dual personality, under decel it is super mild and quiet, yet when you push hard toward redline it gets more fun and racy! With the top down lots of fun throaty burble, but dramatically more tame when the top is up. In brief, FUN when you want it, and yet totally mild when just cruising top up.

As an untrained amateur I was a little concerned installing this myself. Prevous experience was limited to brake pads and oil changes. Watch some youtube videos and this is definitely doable for the average semi handy person.
I am really really pleased with the result. Feels and sounds like a different car and it is now an absolute thrill to go through a tunnel or underpass at high revs. Definitely noticeable improvement in power and not so loud as to anger my neighbors. When you put the glass packed baffle in the muffler tip and keep the throttle low, it is pretty mannerly. Let her rip and you will turn heads. PERFECT!!!
Installed this morning and sounds great! I went with the stainless header and sent it off to Jet Hot and had the ceramic coating put on outside and they coat the inside also. I also went with the Roadster Sport Super Street Twin Tip with no baffles. There were no issues installing the header on my AT. I went thru the muscle car days and owned small block V8's to 429 CJ engines running street headers and turbo mufflers. So the sounds from the exhaust are fine with me. A sports car now sounds like a sports car! I am very happy with the final product very well built and looks great too!
The combo is a piece of art and a must have for any ND!
The quality of the product is top notch, installation was a breeze (except for removing the OE header, but that's not on GWR). It took me a good 2-3 hours to install it with my son and only using 2 jack stands in a tiny garage, it could be faster with a proper garage and a lift. The fitting is prefect, a real bolt-on upgrade, no grinding or cutting.
Then there is the sound: perfectly balanced. You can go from a super sporty sounds to nearly no sounds at all when cruising. No drone at all at any speed. Revving the car to 7500 rpm in any gear gets you into a new dimension and is totally addictive. It is not on the quiet side, but sooooo good.
The car now feel way more alive with a real progress in pick up at midrange (3-5k rpm). A lot more "grunt" and a real naturally aspirated feeling. My next upgrade will a be an ECU tune to get the most out of the exhaust and intake (Mishimoto), but I'm so happy I started by this for a first upgrade.
