PART NUMBER: 61-3737
Price is for a PAIR of new Engine mounts.
NEW adjustable height mounts! These were developed to offer the MX-5 community the option of installing their motor either at the stock location or at a lower height, without having to change out the engine mounts. You can now position the motor higher or lower, to assist in aligning turbo or supercharger piping, and to alleviate any clearance issues that you may be facing with your build.
Direct bolt-on replacement for the NC MX-5 chassis with a 2.0 or 2.5 swap motor. The kit includes fabricated steel replacement motor mounts with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings for more secure engine support, enhancing shifting and overall car performance. AWR Racing provides engine mounts with different durometer options to cater to the needs of daily, aggressive, and track-driven builds.
Why eccentric cam bolts?
The eccentric bolt allows you to position the motor anywhere you want within your build without having to support the motor and re-position the thru-bolts during this process.
Made in the USA, laser cut and CNC folded, tig welded in house. Provided with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings in four different durometer options that can be swapped out or replaced at any time to suit driver needs. Powder coated silver for a very durable finish! Lifetime warranty on steel fabricated unit. Street and track proven!
The stock Miata soft engine mounts allow a great deal of motor movement... so much that autocrossers and track day racers have complained to us about high speed shifts that can be vague and difficult. The engine leans over hard enough to actually twist the transmission, making shifts difficult.
These mounts dramatically reduce motor movement for much more precise operation of your shifts and much more direct application of power to the ground... and your transmission will live a much longer life too!
Choosing the Best Durometer:
Since 1995, AWR Racing has been producing top-of-the-line Miata and MX-5 mounts. These motor mounts utilize larger bushings to reduce NVH, specifically cabin vibration. More recently, AWR introduced their tried-and-tested 62 durometer Energy Suspension polyurethane option, perfect for daily and street use. If you're searching for stability with minimal NVH transfer, the 62 durometer is the ideal choice for you.
Here's a breakdown of the durometer options and their recommended usage. Note these are NOT identical to what AWR publishes - this is our recommendation based on feedback from customers. Even the 62 durometer option introduces more NVH compared to stock mounts, so we don't consider that option to be reasonable for an unmodifed street-only car.
62 durometer (ultra soft) for modified cars that still see daily street use but need a higher performance engine mount
70 durometer (soft) for moderate modification levels, mixed street and track use
88 durometer (medium) for track builds
95 durometer (hard) for highly modified/extreme race builds
If your first option doesn't suit your needs, don't worry! The bushings can be swapped out or replaced. Keep in mind that initial NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) is more pronounced with new bushings and will settle after approximately 500 miles driven.
