Voodoo Knob Magnum Black Textured Finish

After all the hype I'd heard about these from Miata folks, I had to try one. My results were mixed. Product quality, fit, finish, and appearance were all very good. It's a bit lighter than the OEM knob, but shifts still feel ok. It sits a little lower than OEM, which feels pretty good.

My main issue is with the use of bare metal as the material. Here in the Northeast, where the temperature fluctuates quite a bit, IMHO the metal knob can feel too cold or too hot, to the point of being uncomfortable or at least distracting. I think a leather-covered model, or a weighted wood model would be preferable across the three seasons I drive the MX-5. I've gone back to the OEM knob, as I've concluded bare metal is an unsuitable material for me. Folks in other climates, or who wear driving gloves may not find this to be an issue.
