DESCRIPTION

Set of four extremely high quality chrome-moly connecting rods, designed and manufactured for Goodwin Racing by Pauter. Made in the USA.

The factory connecting rods in the MX5's 2.0L Skyactiv engine are TINY and sure to be the weakest link if you go for lots of power. These rods are designed to hold up to everything you want to throw at them. Rated for 400-500 hp, so you have plenty of headroom for your choice of boost from supercharger or turbo.

Features a tapered small end so they are compatible with the factory pistons. The Pauter rods weigh 508 grams each (with a variable of up to 10 grams per rod), compared to a stock rod at 485 grams. ARP 3/8" rod bolts are included. Torque spec: 35 ft-lbs.

Manufactured from high nickel alloy premium chrome-moly steel, heat treated, and fully shot peened for superior stress resistance and longevity.
Pauter's most obvious feature in their rod design is the uniform shape and cross-section of the rod beam. This is specifically designed to spread and minimize stress loads over larger uniformly shaped areas. The result is an excellent combination of beam rigidity and crack resistance, while maintaining a comparatively light weight. The streamlined beam design also reduces windage as the road/crank assembly spins, resulting in less turbulence and more horsepower than rods with a pocketed design like an H beam. The cap features ample center mass and elongated ribbing to provide superior cross-sectional strength, reducing cap flex while remaining lightweight, as well as additional mass at the bolt interruption points where it matters most.

Brian's Application Notes: We started the project with these back in 2017, long before most people were searching for stronger engine internals for the ND. We have been running them in a built motor here putting as much as 300 ft/lbs torque to the ground through a built transmission. We knew that at some point some customers will need these so we got to work early on them and now with years of beating the snot out of the motor with these we have made them available so those turning the boost up can do so without fear of bent rods.
