More roll stiffness means less body "lean", and the tires stay flatter on the pavement (larger contact patches). The result is more grip and added driver control! And Front Wheel Drive cars like the MINI Cooper tend to understeer in stock form due to their front-heavy weight balance and because the front tires are doing two jobs; cornering and acceleration. Stiffening the rear sway bar makes the car "rotate" better, resulting in a more neutral handling balance with less understeer.
