ACT Mini Cooper S Stage 1 Clutch and Flywheel Combo

DESCRIPTION

Fits R53 Mini Cooper S and JCW (2002-2006) and R52 Mini Cooper S Convertible (2005-2008). Does not fit non-supercharged models.

The Mini Cooper S has a dual mass flywheel, and changing to an aftermarket clutch requires also changing the flywheel out for an aftermarket single mass unit. Therefore we bundle the flywheel and clutch together in one package here so you know you're getting everything you need to upgrade your clutch and flywheel.

ACT Stage 1 "Street" Clutch and Flywheel combo. This combo comes complete with Flywheel, Pressure Plate, Clutch Disc, Throw Out Bearing, and Clutch Alignment Tool.

Stage 1 Clutch:

Combines a Heavy Duty pressure plate with a performance organic street disc with sprung hub which makes for a clutch that is still reasonably easy to drive in all street conditions, but paired with the heavy duty pressure plate this combo is able to hold much more torque than the factory clutch. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting. The ACT Street clutch kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement and significantly improved durability. Meets SFI Spec 1.1.

ACT Stage One Heavy Duty Clutch Kit is rated for 270 ft lbs of torque (at the flywheel).

Streetlite Flywheel:

ACT's XACT StreetLite Flywheel is 13.9 lbs and provides improved engine response, acceleration and a higher degree of safety than the heavy stock flywheel.
StreetLite Flywheels are true one-piece designs CNC machined from forged Chrome-moly which is stronger and more durable than billet steel or aluminum. This flywheel can be resurfaced with no need to purchase additional parts. Good Drivability. The 'just right' weight for street fun that won't annoy you in stop and go traffic.
Note photo here is a generic picture of ACT clutch and flywheel combo. There is NO pilot bearing for Mini Cooper clutches because the Mini does not use a pilot bearing.

New flywheel to crankshaft bolts are included. Does NOT come with bolts to hold the pressure plate to the flywheel. The ACT flywheel is designed to take the factory clutch bolts. Those factory bolts are M9x1.0. Note that some aftermarket OE replacement flywheels use a different bolt size, so if your car has had the flywheel replaced at some point in its past you may find that you need to source new M9x1.0 bolts to work in this flywheel.
