DESCRIPTION
This is a 5 Liter jug (about 5 quarts). The MINI Cooper takes 4.4-4.5 quarts for an oil change (depending on the year), so this is the perfect size for a full oil change, and will leave you with a little left over.
MOTUL's 8100 line of engine oils are specially engineered for specific engine applications. This High Performance 100% Synthetic Engine Oil is specifically designed to meet BMW LL-01 standards, as specified for Gen 1 and Gen 2 MINIs. For 2002-2006 (Gen 1) MINI Cooper and Cooper S, 5W-30 is the factory recommended oil weight and what we recommend. For 2007-2013 (Gen 2) MINI Cooper and Cooper S, the factory spec is 0W-30, but that super thin oil weight really only applies to NEW engines. Most of these cars now have many miles on them and for anything over 50,000 miles, we recommend going up to this 5W-30 for better protection.
