For those who lost or damaged their factory hardware that join the header and midpipe on NC, here it is - genuine hardware from Mazda.
Includes two studs, two springs, and two nuts: enough for one header.
The NC uses a special ball-and-socket design with a "donut" style gasket for the joint between the header and midpipe. This junction uses a special pair of studs and springs to provide the right amount of tension on the gasket so that it seals, while still allowing for flex and movement. All of our RoadsterSport headers are designed to use that factory hardware and gasket to retain that sophisticated gasket/joint design. YES these are expensive, and NO most folks do not need to buy new ones. You can reuse the factory hardware from your original header, but if you damage or lose yours and need replacements, we offer them here.
I did not want to risk re-installing my 15 year old rusted hardware onto my new header. These were worth the price - although looking back, I probably could have found some bolts at the hardware store that would have worked.
I did need to add washers between the nuts and springs to fix a small leak. Not sure if that was a result of the header gasket or this hardware.
I would buy again, totally worth it to not deal with the rusted old hardware.
