- Brake pads are NOT included by default with this system. Racing brake pads are a highly personal choice. Rather than inflate the price with a set of pads you may not want, AP Racing prefers to allow you to you to choose the pads that best suit your needs/wants.
Brake Pad Recommendations: With the CP8350 caliper up front and OEM NC brakes in the rear, we do NOT suggest running a front pad with substantially higher friction than the rear, as this would shift the brake bias too far forward for most applications. For best performance with this brake setup, it is recommended that you run the same pad compound both front and rear. If you re running OEM RX-8 brakes on the rear of your NC, start with the same compound all around and do some testing before deciding if you want to try staggered compounds.
Wheel Clearance:
To confirm clearance with the wheels you have, you can print out the brake template and check it on your wheels.

Rather than inflate the price with a set of pads you may not want, AP Racing prefers to allow you to you to choose the pads that best suit your needs/wants. You can type "7420" into the search box at the top of our site to find all of the pads available for this caliper, and add the ones you want to your cart along with this brake kit.
- Pad Tension Clips (frequently referred to as anti-rattle clips) are NOT included with AP's Competition Kits, but they do offer them as an option if you're concerned about NVH. One of the great benefits of the AP Racing calipers is that they are designed to accommodate pads from a wide range of manufacturers. Each manufacturer builds their pads with specifications that are slightly different. As such, pads from different manufacturers, or even from different batches, won't always fit in the calipers in exactly the same manner. Some pads are a snug fit, while others may rattle around and produce noise. The Essex Designed Pad Tension Kit is designed to dramatically reduce pad movement inside the caliper, along with just about all resulting noise. Search part number "61-3955" on our site to find those. Please note that each caliper requires one Pad Tension Kit. If you need enough tension clips for both of your calipers, you need to order two of these kits!

Brake Pads in A Commonly Available Shape
Race pads aren't cheap, and you burn through them quickly if you spend any amount of time on track. The average set of race pads for the AP Racing CP8350 costs roughly $175. How many sets of brake pads do you go through in a season? Some people find that they could pay off their brake system in a short period of time on pad savings alone. Not only are the pads for the CP8350 inexpensive, they re also 20mm thick. That extra thickness acts as a thermal barrier and helps keep heat out of your pistons and brake fluid. Finally, since this pad shape is used by a wide range of racing calipers, it s available in just about every popular racing compound on the market. That means you'll never end up in a pinch without pads. Cheap, thick, and available is a great combination for a consumable like race pads. Type "7420" into the search box at the top of our site to find all of the pads available for this caliper, and add the ones you want to your cart along with this brake kit. ***Pads are NOT included with this kit***
