They are finally here: the long awaited Aurora Auto Design Roadster Hoops!

AAD is a branch of Blackbird Fabworx - known for quality rollover protection for all generations of Miata/MX5.

The Roadster Hoops fit both the 2016-up Miata ND soft top and the 2017-up Fiat 124. Does NOT fit the RF model MX5. The Roadster Hoops are an excellent upgrade to the dinky factory Aluminum hoop/plastic factory setup for those who want a more robust structure but still wish to keep the classic double hoop look of the OEM design.

Why upgrade the stock setup to the Roadster Hoops?
The Roadster hoops are significantly taller, made out of the same materials that proper roll bars and cages are built, and have the additional rear legs that bolt to the chassis with a backing plates, much like our full Blackbird roll bars. Those are some VERY big differences!

Please note AAD/BFW is a small business making things to order, and they are often backed up with orders. Please allow 4-6 weeks of build time for your hoops. Made to order items cannot be cancelled after the order is placed.

The Roadster Hoops are legal for track use in events where the OEM hoops are allowed, but would likely not pass the requirements for many trackday organizers that require a full roll bar. Please check with your event organizer if you are unsure. If you intend to spend some time on track and / or have modified your car we highly recommend our complete one-piece Blackbird Fabworx ND RZ roll bar for substantial added safety margin.

Key features of the Roadster Hoops:
* Allow full use of the factory soft top which can be lowered from the driver's seat.
* 1.5" taller than OEM hoop structure.
* DOM Steel construction with additional chassis mounting points.
* Simpler installation than a roll bar.

* Allows all plastic and carpet trim panels to be reinstalled (with minor trimming), glove box retained.
* Includes amp relocation bracket for cars with Bose sound system.

* High quality powder coat finish in Ultra High Gloss Black, similar in color to the factory gloss black plastic covers. * Weight gain of just ~13 Lbs. in comparison with the OEM hoops!

BEWARE the wimpy stock bars are just 1 inch aluminum under the BIG plastic covers, here is what the stock hoop looks like:

BRIAN'S FEEDBACK. Such a creative and interesting hybrid we see in this design. At first glance my brain wanted to dismiss it as a mere style bar, the mouse trap bars that we will not sell because if the car flips it could just fold since it lacks rear supports. Then I looked closer and noticed this has rear supports. The rear supports on this design run to the same pan location of the chassis with backing plates that the complete Blackbird roll bar uses. Thus, still obviously much less protection than a full replacement Blackbird bar, yet well beyond mere style bar with meaty, and taller than stock, stout hoops with some actual rear support. Red arrows added to picture below to make the rear supports a bit more obvious to notice.
