This is a gorgeous wheel, and entirely functional in its design. The ring around the perimeter is for added strength and resistance to flex. Show up for a fast track day and the very fastest Mitsubishi EVOs are running this wheel for its combination of incredible strength and anti-flex technology.
The NT03+M was originally developed for competition and used in the Japanese Super Endurance Racing Class 1 and is engineered with Enkei's Anti-Flex technology to support the highest G forces you can dish out.
NT03+M is designed with a perimeter brace ring that enhances the wheel strength so it s able to resist deformation or distortion from outer forces, resulting in highly accurate steering response and strength. The NT03+M also features a racing twin valve design which allows for accurate monitoring while adjusting the pressure.

Note that if you use stock lugs on this wheel you WILL SCRATCH IT UP badly because of the narrow and deep socket pockets on this design. Therefore, we STRONGLY recommend any of the slim lug nuts that we offer here on our site with this wheel.
Brian's Thoughts: The NT03+M is a legend in the industry for car enthusiasts. Very strong, and yet very light for this size (which equates to both the best handling and ride quality). Made in Japan by Enkei, a supplier of wheels to every level of racing including Formula one. For connoisseurs of Japanese wheels and car culture, plenty of kids at stoplights have waved me down just to point at the wheels they know and give their approval of having them on a lowered truck. This is a WIDE fitment for Maverick. For lowered trucks only, and really just for the guys planning to charge a canyon road or go autocross or track like we have done with our Mavericks. Enkei NTO3+M 18x9.5 and 255/55-18 Tires with our 'SuperSport' Springs in first picture below on our 2022 Maverick.
