In order for the engine to reach more of its potential, it needs a less restrictive intake design. The AEM intake achieves this.
Not only will this intake give your Miata much freer breathing and quicker acceleration, but also provide a nice deep growl at high revs. Not at all loud, but a nice sporty sound. AEM's Short Ram induction systems create more power, and more torque for your Miata...you will FEEL the difference. Includes heat shield. CARB approved for '04 ONLY! Not shown in picture but here you are getting the POLISHED version. AEM 22-489 CARB EO Number: D-392-28

Unfortunately my intake package contained incorrect parts which was manufacturer error and not of Good-WinRacing. The good folks at Good-Win Racing made sure I got a replacement intake package with the proper parts.
Once I received it, I had Rise Garage which specializes in Mazda Miata/MX5 vehicles install the intake, and larger diameter downpipe.
All I can say is the long wait was well worth it. The intake plus bolt on exhaust mods really woke up my MSM. I would have to say it's almost a night and day difference between stock and my cars current state with all the current bolt on mods.
Well made product. Easy to follow instructions. Nice fit and finish. Sounds great, definitely loud compared to stock. The car pulls smoothly and feels quicker Han stock. . Haven't dyno'd it yet though.
The only issue I had was that the hose connecting the recirc valve to the intake would pinch off where it rounds the valve cover. So I bought a heater hose elbow from my FLAPS and now it flows smoothly through the bend.
Also, the color choice is pointless on the lower pipe since you can't really see it once it is installed. And the polished silver upper pipe looks nice but it doesn't really match the stock intercooler pipe. If I were to do it again, I'd buy save the money and buy the red kit and repaint the upper tube to match the stock tube.
