DESCRIPTION
The first two generations of Mazda Miata came with three different brake sizes, depending on year and model. The largest of those options was a 10.9" rear rotor size which came on the 2001-2002 Sport Package and that size then became standard issue on all 2003-2005 Miatas. A common upgrade for earlier cars with the smaller brakes is to update to the larger "Sport Package" brakes, which usually requires new rotors and calipers. But that comes with a drawback; less pad selection for the Sport brake calipers, and in some cases, more rear brake bias than one might want.
This kit includes a pair of StopTech Slotted rear rotors in the large 10.9" Sport Package size, but you keep your current brake calipers, and you use the included brackets and hardware to place your existing rear brake calipers over that larger rotor.
You get the benefits of the larger rotor (more heat capacity and braking torque) while also keeping the wide range of pad selection that comes with the non-sport calipers. In testing we have found that with 11.75" front big brake kits that use a Wilwood caliper, the most ideal rear brake configuration for the best braking balance is a Sport size rear rotor with a standard non-sport 1.8L (94-02) rear caliper, mounted over these larger rear rotors with our brackets.

Our brackets are CNC machined billet aluminum, with anodized finish and steel thread inserts. All necessary hardware is included.
1990-1993 (1.6L): Choose the "1.6L: 90-93" option in the drop down menu. The brackets provided will place your existing 90-93 rear brake calipers over the new sport size rear rotors.
1994-2000 ALL brakes and 2001-2002 NON-Sport: Choose the "1.8L: 94-00 or 01-02 Non-Sport" option in the drop down menu. The brackets provided will place your existing 90-93 rear brake calipers over the new sport size rear rotors.
2001-2002 with SPORT package and all 2003-2005: You already have the sport size brakes. This kit is NOT FOR YOU.
