Konig Hypergram 18x11 5X114.3 ET40, Matte Grey

First of all, these wheels are WIDE. As in, 285s almost looks stretched. I have 4 sets of tires waiting for their turn on these wheels. Currently, ECFs in 285 fit fine. Zero rub, but there was definitely some modification required. The rear fenders only needed a mildly aggressive roll/pull, and let me tell you, the rear fenders on an rx8 are multi layer, so it was an arm workout. My diff also was not happy, but I made it work (LFX swap with Camaro zl1 diff). The fronts took a little more work. I ended up cutting out most of the bumper tabs and bits that hold on the indicators, which I still wanted to retain, I just trimmed the back corner of it and gorilla glued them onto the bumper. The bumper is also now held on to the sids via some button tabs. The firewall side of the front fender also has a seam that I had to sledge hammer flat. those two things plus some liner modification and an aggressive roll/pull fits the wheel and tire combo fine. surprisingly well in fact. Tire still can tuck under fender, so no need for over fenders on this chassis. These wheels also fit over my Wildwood kit with zero issue. This is the main reason I even purchased new wheels. 18x9.5 RPF1s would not clear my bbk without more spacer than I was comfortable with long term.

Long story short, if someone were to tell me that an rx8 could fit 18x11s with zero rub without cutting fenders, I wouldn't have believed them, but someone did their homework on these. They fit, and they are meaty.

I have heard rumors of 315s fitting as well, but possibly requiring some 3mm spacers in back due to shock tower, so these could be perfect high level autox wheels. I am a road course guy myself, and am looking forward to getting out on Barber in a few weeks with this setup.
