Mazda 3 Product Update! After initially introducing the Mazda 3 exhaust as a two-piece system, Racing Beat decided to separate the tip section from the connecting pipe to ease your installation efforts. Racing Beat originally followed the step-by-step removal and installation process that Mazda recommended for the Mazda3, but when Racing Beat set out to design a system for the Mazda 3 sedan application this process became just too involved and complex for the average weekend mechanic to undertake!

The new three-piece Mazda 3 exhaust design shown here allows for a MUCH easier installation effort, without any sacrifices to function or performance! The Mazda 3 system that Racing Beat offers for the Mazda 3 is a complete 304-stainless steel cat-back system! This cat-back Mazda 3 exhaust system is a direct replacement for the factory system and utilizes the stock hangers and mounting brackets for a secure fitment.

Manufactured using 2.375" OD stainless steel tubing and cast stainless steel flanges for excellent durability, this straight-through Mazda 3 exhaust system is perfect for street or race use. Finished with a 3.5" OD double-walled stainless steel outlet tip, this Mazda 3 exhaust system looks as well as it performs. Although we would have preferred to offer a true emissions-legal "bolt-on" Mazda 3 system, the design of the stock OEM Mazda 3 system makes this very difficult. A quick description of the stock exhaust system on the Mazda 3 is required.

Mazda has designed the stock OEM exhaust system for the Mazda 3 as one long single unit which includes: a catalytic converter, presilencer, main muffler, outlet pipe and tip section. These components are permanently attached to the exhaust tubing and cannot be individually separated. It appears that this Mazda 3 exhaust system was installed onto the Mazda 3 and then the rear suspension sub-frame was raised into place. This manufacturing technique makes the removal of any Mazda 3 exhaust system on this application a bit more difficult than previous Mazda 3 models.

In order to retain the emissions legal status of your Mazda 3, the stock catalytic that is included in the OEM exhaust system must be removed from the original exhaust system and retained on the car. Once the stock Mazda 3 exhaust has been removed from the car the tubing just behind this catalytic converter can be cut (using a simple hacksaw), and the unit returned to the car.

The Racing Beat Mazda 3 exhaust system uses slip-joint style fitting and an OEM-style retaining clamp to securely mate Racing Beat's Mazda 3 exhaust system to the original catalytic converter outlet tube. The original catalytic converter is retained and the emissions-legal status of your car is still intact!
