Starting in 2018 Mazda changed the MX-5's tire pressure monitoring back to a traditional system using sensors inside the wheels. When ordering new wheels for your ND2 or ND3 MX-5 you'll either need to swap the sensors from the factory wheels or purchase a new set.
These sensors are for NDs from mid-2020 up through 2025 model year. The exact cutoff date is July 14 2020. Your car's date of manufacture is shown on the VIN tag. If your car was made after July 14 2020 then these are the sensors for you.
These are not necessary if you have a 2016-2017 MX-5 as those years do not use in-tire sensors.
