DESCRIPTION
Carbon Fiber Adjustable Wing by APR Performance.When properly mounted on the rear of your Miata, a wing can generate large amounts of downforce, increasing the amount of tire grip available on the road. This increased grip allows you to carry higher speeds through turns. As used on our Project Race blue ND.
This version of APR's universal GTC-300 is built with custom spacing between the mounts to fit the ND trunk lid. Installation requires drilling holes in your trunk for mounting. Wing is MADE TO ORDER, please allow 1-2 weeks for build time.
This GTC-300 wing spans 67 inches over its optimized 3D airfoil shape. It supplies maximum downforce in sports and touring car applications. Each GTC Series airfoil is composed of lightweight and durable pre-preg carbon fiber composite materials for superior strength and low weight and have a UV-stable clear coat. Supporting the airfoils are 10mm "aircraft grade" 6061 billet aluminum pedestals that come in a flat black powder coat finish. The pedestals are drilled with a multi-hole layout that allows quick and precise adjustment of the wing angle.
RYAN'S NOTES: This wing's adjustability makes it a great match for a wide variety of front-end aero on a MX5. At a shallow (horizontal) angle it pairs well with mild additions such as a front lip spoiler or canards. At steeper angles it produces enough downforce to balance a racing front airdam and splitter.

This thing is incredible. I installed it with the Versus front splitter and canards, set the angle to .5 degrees off the top of the side plates. The car is balanced perfectly. At Sebring my lowest speed was increased 10 mph in T17 and 15 mph in Turn 1. Even with a 15 mph higher corner speed there was zero indication of any slip angle so obviously there is a lot more to be gained as I learn how to use/trust the aero.
Because of the significantly higher corner entry speeds terminal velocity at the exit of each straight is unchanged. A +50 hp E85 tune and full Goodwin race exhaust dropped 4 seconds off my lap time, this has the potential to drop it by at least the same.
Best lap times were made with the top up to give the center of the wing cleaner air to work with. However, there was still sufficient downforce available with the top down to beat all my previous lap times set with no aero, top up (clean configuration).
