DESCRIPTION
The RoadsterSport PPF brace is designed to reduce slop in the transmission by bracing the PPF against the rear subframe. This brace also improves traction by reducing wheel hop, a must for boosted applications. These braces are made in the USA from ultra light honeycomb aluminum for maximum strength and powder coated to last a lifetime.
Comes with two spacers to be used for those who do not have the factory bracing on the rear subframe.
Brian's Application Notes: Fits USDM Miata NA8 94-97 or on NA6 Miatas with rear NA8 subframe. Great mod for race cars, but for street cars, notice that you will pick up more gear whine because this item works by taking away much of the isolation effects of the bushings on the factory power plant frame.
INSTALL NOTES:
The challenge with install of this brace is it is made for a 'perfect' Miata, and just about every Miata these days with 20+ years on them isn't as straight as they used to be, and they have all had the PPF disconnected at one point or another for things like clutch service, etc. so things are not aligned quite as they were from the factory. So in fact, first attempt at test fitting the brace is shows how far off the car is. So on some cars install is easy, but on many cars install requires that you loosen all bolts and also loosen the PPF at both ends and slightly loosen the differetial, get the brace installed loosely, and then slowly snug up all the bolts evenly. You'll end up with a car that is back much closer to how it's supposed to be.
Hardware: Kits come with two spacers and four bolts. The spacers go between the brace and the rear subframe mounting points. For the four bolts, two are fine thread and two are coarse thread. Most NA Miatas will use the fine thread bolts, but if you have an NB subframe, some NB subframes had coarse threads, so we include the coarse bolts as well so that you have them if you need them.

The product itself was great. Has a great finish and looks to be of great quality. Didn't have a hard time installing like I've read some horror stories. All of my holes lined up well.
The real hang up was this did not come with the correct hardware. This was pretty disappointing to spend this much on a brace not to be able to install it before an event.
Goodwin sent me the correct hardware in a relatively timely fashion which I appreciate, but really expect to be able to install these parts upon receiving them.
5 stars for the product. 2 stars for the unboxing and installation. 4 stars for the service.
I installed this while car was in storage. It ended up going well but I was sweating bullets. It's a bit of a leap of faith hoping you don't strip those bolts. My car had low miles and is in great shape. It still didn't prove to be easy. I had to pull that thing back and over to the right hand side of the car has hard as I could. Two people would have helped but I'm always solo. But it went. Seemed to thread correctly without stripping anything. Hopefully it will never need to be removed. Can't wait to drive it. I know it's going to make a huge difference.
