DESCRIPTION

A Goodwin Racing Exclusive!

This is the unit we are using in our 2006 2.5L turbo track car. We are proud to be an authorized OS Giken dealer. OS Giken has been producing performance parts for both OEM manufacturers as well as the aftermarket since 1975. Professional racers, home grown racers, and performance enthusiasts alike have come to know and respect OS Giken, and we are honored to be able to bring these products to you.

The BEST clutch you can put in your NC 6 speed transmission.
Twin 204mm (8") diameter clutch discs have a lower moment of inertia than any standard size clutch can have. Includes OS Giken lightweight flywheel.
Amazing 500+ ft lbs of torque capacity yet well mannered with only a moderately heavy pedal - less pedal effort than any of our ACT options!

Includes OS Giken release/throwout bearing assembly - a $110 value, which is usually a part you have to order separately with OSG clutches!

CLUTCH COVER
OS Giken's specially designed clutch cover contains a unique leverage mechanism for the diaphragm spring, resulting in a higher clamping load of the clutch discs while also reducing pedal effort. These diaphragm springs combined with special OS Giken Release Sleeves provide a much easier to operate clutch.

DISCS
Utilizes full face metallic clutch plates to achieve high torque capacity. This allows the use of much softer diaphragm springs to achieve equal or better torque capacity compared to competitors with substantially less pedal effort.

CLUTCH HOUSING
Integrated ventilation holes reduce heat generated inside the clutch system and allows for friction plate dust to exit outside the clutch system, thus increasing reliability and safety. Both the clutch housing and flywheel are chemically heat treated to handle extreme conditions. Increased power output typically requires more torque capacity(friction) in order to hold. This often leads to more heat being generated.

FLYWHEEL
OS Giken hardened steel alloy flywheels provide superior durability and life than aluminum flywheels, which also results in quicker and predictable engine response. Developed to maximize OS Giken design and engineering philosophies into a no-compromise, complete clutch assembly.
Full integrated clutch and flywheel package increases transmission efficiency and engine response. OS Giken clutches and flywheels are built within strict tolerances and crafted using carefully selected materials to provide the highest quality and durability.

BRIAN'S THOUGHTS: Feels sporty but not much heavier pedal than a stock clutch with just slight increase in pedal pressure (has less pedal pressure than stock clutch on many cars) and release pattern feels much like stock. We tried every clutch that costs less on our budget NC Track beast shown above and broke them all, or hated them because pedal was extremely heavy and release was like a light switch with instant on/off. No more serious feeling than an ACT stage 1, but holds a ton more torque and far easier to drive than an ACT Stage 2/Extreme or any solid disc that can hold this much power. This clutch is for the big NC turbo power drivers that want a clutch they can drive to work every day, drive anywhere in town, and still race with 400 and more hp at the wheels at the track!

INSTALL NOTE: Does not come with a clutch alignment tool. Because this is a twin disc clutch, a common cheap plastic alignment tool is not precise enough to guarantee getting both clutch discs aligned perfectly - while some folks have used a plastic tool to install these, it's a recipe for a frustrating install when you can't get the transmission reinstalled due to the two discs being ever so slightly misaligned from each other so the input shaft can't slide in fully. OS Giken strongly recommends using a metal alignment tool that is machined with much more precision than a plastic tool. Some creative DIYers make their own by cutting the input shaft off a scrap transmission, but if that's not an option for you we offer the OS Giken metal clutch alignment tool separately on our site, part number 61-2996.
