DESCRIPTION

Eye bolt for mounting clip-in harness attachments. SOLD INDIVIDUALLY.
See drop down menu for options of eye bolt only, or adding a backing plate or nut and lock washer.

The eye bolt has standard 7/16" threads. These can replace the factory seatbelt bolts; just unscrew the factory bolt and screw the eye bolt in to replace it - this is a great way to mount the lap belts of your harness. Seatbelt bolts are always a standard 7/16" thread - YES, even the Miata/MX5, despite having metric hardware almost everywhere on the car, is 7/16" thread for the seatbelt bolts.

Also available with a backing plate with matching 7/16" nut for situations where you are drilling a new hole through the sheet metal and need a large backing plate for a safe installation. The backing plate is 50mm x 80mm (about 2" x 3").

Final option is to add a nut and lock washer for applications where you are installing the eye bolt in a mounting tab on a roll bar or aftermarket seat bracket or similar and need a nut on the back side. Nut is high strength grade 8 and zinc coated for corrosion resistance.

Sparco Harness Eye Bolt

Bought this bolt and backing plate for 6 point harness install. If you're mounting these under the floor you may need to cut a small piece off the backing plate to make them fit in between the frame rails depending on where you try and mount them.

Product is high quality.

Another tip get an extra backing plate if you have a California spec NB1. There is a pre tapped hole in the transmission tunnel covered with an easily removable rubber cover(used for o2 sensors on fed spec cars). You can use this hole as a harness point if you have a backing plate. I was also able to retain my stock seat belt by securing the seatbelt in its stock location with the eyelet(note I used my stock seat rails with my race seat so I still had my belt clip in the stock location.
