DESCRIPTION
Bolt on fitment for the factory turbo on the 1.4L MultiAir Engine fitted to the Fiat 124 Spider and Abarth.
Turbosmart Upgraded Wastegate Actuators have been developed to provide maximum possible boost response for your factory frame turbocharger. The Turbosmart IWG75 Series of upgraded Actuators benefit from an increased Working Ratio over the factory equipment resulting in improved boost response, throughout the RPM range.
This Improved working ratio is achieved through an increase to the effective surface area of the diaphragm & revisions to the actual springs fitted resulting in greater leverage of the forces the actuator is working against (boost and backpressure) while still being super-responsive.
This actuator ships with a 7 psi spring, which is the same pressure as factory, and will work with the factory tune. Staying with the same base pressure as factory, you can expect a broader boost & torque curve through peak boost being achieved earlier in the RPM and being held longer, into higher RPM with this upgraded actuator. These improvements can be further amplified with a higher base pressure, however tuning & recalibration is required.
Optional springs can be purchased separately at any time to achieve boost pressures from 3psi to 26psi.

Turbosmart Wastegate Actuator for Fiat 124
I used this actuator on my turbo ND after the supplied AVO one failed on track. The rod needed to be cut to size and rethreaded, and the mounting bracket needed to be notched in order to allow a straight fit!
Couldn't be happier with the outcome, very noticeable improvement overall, and a highly recommended mod for any turbo car.
Great plug & play upgrade. Definitely feels smoother now. The hardest part was un-installing the OEM part.
When I swapped out the OE wastegate actuator for the TURBOSMART unit I really wasn't expecting any noticeable differences in performances, I was just looking to make certain the turbo on my car was able to operate as designed and as efficiently as possible. To my amazement there was and is a noticeable difference, and who would have thought? The turbo boost now comes on consistent, when and as expected, and behaves in a more predictable manner. You can not only feel this but it also becomes visually obvious when observing the boost gauge. Money well spent and a simple install.
